I own a pair of Alesis Monitor One, hooked to my stereo and the difference between commercial speakers and these monitors is the difference between just listening to music and getting excited while listening to music.
The clarity is fabulous, I'm a professional musician and I listen to a lot of classical orchestral music. You would swear you can hear every individual instrument in the orchestra.
The same music heard in hi-fi speakers leaves me flat. In the monitor one, I feel my heart pumping. I like them so much, I am going to buy another pair and replace the speakers in my other stereo.
After reading some reviews on these Alesis speakers I've decided to purchased them. I listen to Downtempo music and these speakers sound great the clarity and bass left me amazed. I have a friend that owns a pair of Tannoy speakers even he was impressed how these Alesis sound. I'm sold with this model I would recommend them.
