Powered desktop studio speakers for project studios, video playback, gaming and mobile devices.

While it's true that the Alesis Elevate 3 monitors are not designed to be a main set of speakers in major recording and prost production facilities, they are however an excellent and affordable decision for your home computer desktop or small project-based studio. Alesis Elevate 3 monitors come as a stereo-matched pair to provide a clear, full sound for your multimedia content and more. Built using technology adopted from Alesis' award-winning Monitor One and M1 Active professional studio monitors, Elevate 3 Studio Monitors are the perfect way to upgrade your computer or mobile device experience. Each speaker is housed in a handmade, custom wood cabinet that helps provide natural bass and feature an elliptical waveguide with Directional Articulation technology. You'll also have the ability to increase power and bass extension by connecting an optional powered subwoofer.

Exceptional Sound Quality
Elevate 3 Studio Monitors contain powerful, three-inch woofers, crisp, one-inch silk-dome tweeters and dedicated bi-amplified power. Alesis engineers carefully selected and tuned these crucial components to work in concert as a single unit within the custom wood cabinet to deliver full lows, clean highs and a detailed compelling stereo image. Magnetic shielding ensures that you'll never have to worry about placement or interference with displays, TVs and other electronic equipment. And unlike passive speakers, Elevate 3 monitors have a volume knob built right in to the front panel for easy control.

Directional Articulation Technology
Alesis has been creating studio monitors for nearly a quarter century. In that time, they have learned a lot about maximizing sound and sonic clarity. Elevate 3 Studio Monitors leverage Alesis' experience in designing studio loudspeakers by employing custom-designed wood cabinets that stay natural and neutral, regardless of the frequency content or volume.

More importantly, each Elevate 3 cabinet features an elliptical-shaped waveguide set around their high-frequency driver - a feature commonly found on premium speakers far more expensive. Surrounding the high-frequency driver, the waveguide optimizes the throw of sound. Its elliptical shape is wide horizontally, creating a wide listening "sweet spot," so you can move left or right without losing stereo image. And because its shape is narrow vertically, the waveguide reduces reflections off of your computer table, below, and the ceiling, above. This translates to clean, consistent and focused sound every time you turn on your pair of Elevate 3 Studio Monitors.

The elliptical waveguide and carefully formed radiuses on each Elevate 3 monitor come together to form what we call Directional Articulation technology. That's a fancy way of saying you get incredible sounding speakers that won't require a second mortgage on your house.

Convenient I/O
An RCA stereo pair input is onboard, perfect for connecting mixers, interfaces, and virtually any other piece of audio gear. A 1/8-inch stereo connection gives you the ability to switch to headphones easily at anytime, and connecting the speakers is just as easy, requiring just one standard 1/8" cable (included). If you're frequently on the move, Elevate 3 is the speaker for you: they feature a built-in power supply so they'll work worldwide with no wall-wart power supply to lose!

Elevate 3 Studio Monitors are designed to produce natural frequency response. But if you need a little more low-end punch, a convenient bass-boost switch does the trick. And if you need even more power and low-end extension, Elevate 3 features a subwoofer output compatible with virtually any powered subwoofer.

  • Cost-effective Improvement Over Computer Speakers

As reviewed by John Cross on 9/16/2013

I purchased these on sale for about $60 (including S&H). They are the perfect step up from standard desktop speakers for a small home studio. The sound is clear, balanced, and accurate. As has been mentioned by others, the bass boost is not particularly useful. The RCA inputs connect to most interfaces, and this pair comes with a stereo 1/8" to RCA cable for easy connection to a standard computer speaker output. However, you should note that headphone outputs are generally hotter than line level. This is likely the cause of the distortion that some users have experienced. Using a mixer or audio interface would allow for the correct line level connection. If you're a bassist, you'll probably appreciate the sub-woofer output for low-end frequencies outside the capabilities of these monitors. I wouldn't count on these as reference quality speakers for professional recording or mixing. But if you're a hobbyist or occasionally record practice sessions, these will be fine. The build is solid, and the speakers have a clean look with no frills or gimmicks to their appearance. With a small footprint, they won't take up a lot of space on a desk used for other tasks.

Everything about these monitors are amazing! The quality of the sound is very accurate and they don't take up entirely too much space. These are ideal for a small home studio or if you're on the go. I highly recommend this product!

  • Nice Speakers, Add A Sub And Wow!

As reviewed by Greg Crawford on 8/1/2013

I'm a noob to recording but not music and audio. I bought these a month ago primarily to have some nice computer speakers. They did the job fine. There's plenty of volume and NO distortion. I don't know what that one reviewer was doing but mine don't distort with commercial music at all even cranked up. I have noticed that they do put out what you put in. As others have said, the bass lacks and the bass boost adds some oomph but muddies the mids a tiny bit. They are afterall only 3 inch speakers for $99. I was happy and since they have a bass out I thought I'd add a sub. I got a Creative T3030 sub and connected it and wow! Adds a ton to the overall sound. I'm deleriously happy now. The nice sub probably helps b/c it has a wired remote with dials for both bass level and power. With the sub I think I will use these for recording my demos when I get my home studio setup. I'll be using a VF160EX and I'll update the review then. These speakers are clean and clear. I'm giving them five stars b/c of the included bass out, build quality and sound. The bass out is really such a great addition that some other speakers at this price point do not have. These speakers are great for a computer media setup esp. with a sub and for a small budget home studio.
