More drums, more sounds and more stability.

The Alesis DM10 Studio Kit is a professional, six-piece electronic drum set with natural-feeling RealHead drum pads, low-noise DMPad Cymbals, the groundbreaking DM10 drum module, and a compact, flexible StageRack.

DM10 MODULE
You will immediately notice the DM10 module’s outstanding sound quality. This new drum sound module contains 1,047 drum, cymbal and percussion sounds, including many built from real samples of classic studio drums and prized cymbals. Drummers will find some of the most in-demand acoustic drum sounds from legendary drum brands, a huge arsenal of top producers' go-to snare drums, real American, Canadian, Chinese, and Turkish cymbals, and a choice selection of classic drum machine and electronic percussion sounds that have fueled the biggest hit records.

Discerning ears will notice that each sound is actually a series of different samples; multiple dynamic-level samples and articulations are all built in so as you play harder and softer, the drum or cymbal changes its timbre, not just its volume. This engineered realism is known as Dynamic Articulation™, an Alesis exclusive. You can play with or without reverb for different room sounds and enjoy a wide variety of rimshots, rim clicks and different stick-placement sounds on the cymbals. For example, a hi-hat’s sound depends on a number of factors: how open or closed the pedal is, how hard it is struck, and other variables resulting in 40 different sounds – plus foot chick and heel splash.

The DM10 module not only has a breathtaking collection of sounds onboard, it is also the world's first drum-sound module that enables you to load new sound sets via USB connection from your computer. This means that your sounds will always stay fresh, current and cutting edge. You can also use the DM10 as a trigger-to-MIDI interface for performing and tracking with software drum modules such as BFD, Toontrack and Reason, among others. For practice, you can play along with the tracks in the DM10’s internal sequencer, mix in an iPod or other MP3 player and play along. The DM10 module has 12 trigger inputs, perfect for creating custom configurations. The DM10’s top-panel mixer gives you easy access to creating custom mixes.

REALHEAD DRUM PADS
The DM10 Studio Kit features Alesis’ acoustic-feeling RealHead pads in 10" and 8" sizes. The dual-zone pads feature real mylar drumheads and real triple-flanged counterhoops for the feel you demand. The snare and tom pads are dual zone, enabling you to perform rimshots, rim clicks or assign other sounds such as wind chimes, cymbals, gongs and cowbells on the tom rims.

RealHead snare and tom pads mount on standard 10.5mm L-rods with low-slip, knurled mounting surfaces. You can use virtually any single or double kick pedal with the RealHead Kick Pad, or split the DM10's kick input with a Y-cable and connect an optional second kick pad for the pedal feel you prefer.

DMPAD CYMBALS
The DM10 Studio Kit includes a set of four low-noise DMPad Cymbals. The kit includes a DMPad Hi-Hatl, a DMPad Crash with choke, a triple-zone DMPad Ride with choke, and a DMPad Cymbal. DMPad Cymbals provide a rubberized playing surface for a great balance between natural cymbal feel and low stick-on-pad sound. The Ride and one Crash cymbal feature large choke triggers on the undersides for accurate cymbal control. The DMPad Ride also features multi-zone triggering on the bell, face and edge. The DMPad Hi-Hat Cymbal and RealHat Pedal give you continuously variable control from wide open to tightly closed.

STAGERACK
The StageRack is the backbone of the DM10 Studio Kit. With its rugged four-post design and industry standard 1-1/2" tubing, the StageRack provides supreme stability under the most serious drumming duress. The StageRack's clamps, mounts, and integrated boom cymbal arms are all fully adjustable with plenty of flexibility to securely fasten your drums, cymbals, and module exactly where you want.

You won't need tools to make most adjustments so you can spend less time setting up and more time rocking out. Large enough to easily accommodate additional drums and cymbals – even acoustic drum, cymbal, and percussion instruments – the StageRack still takes up only a fraction of the space of an acoustic kit. The DM10 Studio Kit gives you more – more drums, more cymbals, more sounds, more flexibility, and more value – to power your creativity.

  • It ain't bad, but not perfect...

As reviewed by Joel Brody on 3/8/2014

When I bought this set for my apartment last year, I just wanted an alternative to acoustic so my neighbors didn't complain. Also, Im only 13, so... Pros: No delay or lag, decent modual, and playing experience is great due to good sound. Cons: Of the 100 preset kits, only 40 of them are useful, the rest just suck. Whenever I play with an amp, the kick and toms sound disorted. Modual is very unintuitive, and everytime I change the sensitivity or volume or sound for each trigger, it doesn't save. This means that everytime I turn the damn thing on, i have to reset all of my settings, which takes about 1 minute, but after everytime, it is just anoying. There shoud definately be a hard button that lets you save your settings. Also, whenever I hit the floor toms, the right hand crash goes of. I think this is because of the vibrations; they are mounted on the same rack, but no matter what i do, whether i move them away or tape a towel to the rack, it still happens. Lastly, since all of the racks are circular????!!!!!!, this means that my snare drum rack keeps twisting when i hit the snare drum, requiring me to get out the drum key and reajustit the rack. I do this about every 5 hours of playing. Overall, a pretty decent set, but there are some design quirks that need to be fixed.

  • DO NOT BUY

As reviewed by Caleb Koehn on 3/13/2014

I have had this kit for about a year a a half now. the kit has some alright sounds but it is not worth the money. after about a year of having the kit, nearly every part of it had broken. The ride, the crash, two pads, two of the crash stands, the moduele, and the bass drum. I sent it back to alesis and they said they would fix it, about four months of trying to contact alesis and get a status on the repairs, I heard nothing back. I desided to contact the suplyer and they ended up sending me a some of the broken products. still hearing nothin from alesis. i will NEVER buy any product sold by alesis again. if you like good quality drum products and bare minimum costomer service the DM 10 is not for you. this is the worst drum product i have ever bought. i would recomend buying a lower line product from any other brand for the same price. i hope this stops you from making the 1,000$ mistake i made.

  • Alesis DM10 Studio: Great Value - A Very Good Kit!

As reviewed by Mark A on 11/21/2013

I don?t usually write reviews because I don?t have a lot of time. I felt compelled to write this one because I think this is an exceptionally good product for the price. I have been a drummer for almost 40 years, and have played numerous acoustic and electronic kits. I have always been a hardcore acoustic kit person until I required a different drumming setup in my studio. After reading tons of reviews, I decided to try the Alesis DM10. I received my Alesis DM0 Studio kit about a week ago. It arrived much faster than expected and was well packed. The box took a good beating up the stairway to my studio as I had to hump it up there by myself. It took me a little over an hour to assemble the kit. I could have easily saved another 15-20 minutes if Alesis would have marked the parts (A,B,C,D, etc.) with little stickers in conjunction with the pictures of the parts on the assembly directions. This is simple enough to do and I don?t know why Alesis did not do it? The pictures of the parts in their diagrams were not that good. Never the less, the assembly was not nearly as bad as I had read in other reviews, still simple enough to do. The first thing I did was to upgrade my DM10 module to the latest Alesis OS. This is extremely important to do initially! After my kit was assembled, I turned it on and surprise, everything triggered and worked on startup. I spent another 25 minutes adjusting the trigger sensitivity and related parameters, but everything worked great! I have been playing and tweaking the DM10s the last few days and am thoroughly enjoying it. The sounds are crisp, clear, and punchy. The sonic qualities of the samples are first rate. The tom pads respond well enough for studio use although they are a bit louder than expected. I will upgrade the heads to the custom mesh heads very soon though. The kick is solid and sturdy and works well with my Gibraltar pedal. Cymbals have a decent bounce, and I like that dual zone choke that allows you to mute their sound after a crash. After calibrating my hit-hat (10 second task), the clap worked like a charm. The frame\hardware seems to be solid and sturdy even with a good around the block pounding. The hardware has quality; it does not look for feel cheap. I got the $200 Alesis rebate which made it a steal. Yes, there are better electronic kits out there but to get there but they go up in price thousands of dollars. I will be using the DM10s for recording and are a perfect fit for my studio. For the price range, the Alesis DM10s are the boss hands down.
