My Favorite: Very good tone, feel, duration, and value for the $$$!

By MJC

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

These are well balanced strings with a very nice feel to them. The trebles are not perfectly clear, but look more frosty like etched glass. Anyways, they sound great and last long. I put one set on and it made every day practice very satsifying with such a rich tone. I've compared these strings to D'Addario: ProArte Normal tension and ProArte Composite High tension. They compare more to the composites. The ProArte Composites had funny overtones and buzzing. These Augustines have none of that. Im going to stick with these from now on.

Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings

By Gary Svitek

from Kissimmee, Florida

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

Excellent strings. Well packaged and protected in shipping. I re-strung my Yamaha C40 Classical Accoustic with them. The Augustine's produced a much richer sound with a more distinct tonal quality than the factory strings. I highly recommend them.

Information

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

First off, theses are great. I use them on my classical guitar that costed 700 USD. I think that Tom who wrote his review on 9/24/2009 was wrong when he complained about having bad intonation. He says it gets worse as you move up the fretboard. This is the guitar, not the strings. If the guitar frets are not aligned right and if the neck has problems it will cause this. The big clue is it gets worse as he goes up the neck. This is a sign of a bad guitar, or inappropriately set neck (also caused by lacking quality.) Also he complains of the going out of tune. This is not the strings fault, EVERY CLASSICAL GUITAR STRING STRETCHES WHEN IT IS NEW. Just play it a lot ( like any true musician) and it will go away. Classical guitar strings are not the same as steel strings ( I have a steel string acoustic too). So in conclusion, these are very good strings.

Augustine Blues strings

By Lennie Joseph

from Rochelle Park NJ

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

These are the best strings for classical guitar bar none. I use them for recording, practice, teaching, etc. They are really the most responsive, and sound great even when they get older. I needed a string to fight back, instead of getting floppy. These are it, try 'em!!

I'm always amazed me the warm tones these strings give.

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

Arguably the best nylon strings in production today. It never ceases to amaze me the warm tones these strings give. The trebles never fall flat and offer me the opportunity for volume with a rich tone that can reach to the back of the house. The same goes for the bass strings. They made my guitar sound much better than all other strings out there. I'll never buy any other strings. Viva Augustine Strings!

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

I'm not a professional musician, nor a connoisseur of guitar strings. I'm just now getting back into playing classical every day, so I'm not very rough on my strings. I've always mostly bought Augustine Blues, and I always wonder if I should experiment, but honestly I'm usually not sure if I could even tell the difference.

But now I've had these strings on for about a month, and suddenly they seem super responsive, and bright but well modulated. They also seem to have a tremulous quality in the sound, like some kind of micro variation in phasing, maybe. They can sing out in dulcet, throaty tones, or make brash, brassy sounds, ring like bells, or thump like a bass fiddle.

Anyway I like them a lot, they have a lively sound and are a joy to play.

      Avoid

      By Tom

      from San Francisco

Comments about Albert Augustine Blue Label Classical Guitar Strings:

Lots of intonation problems on the upper 3 strings. First, they refuse to remain in tune for a significant period of time. Second, with the guitar perfectly tuned, the strings progressively have intonation problems as you move up the fret board.
