MPC Studio offers the most streamlined MPC experience yet. At under one-inch thin, with low-profile controls and a brushed aluminum body, it's made to move. MPC Studio merges real MPC pads, iconic workflow, and the same MPC Software used by MPC Renaissance to give you a fully integrated portable production solution. Welcome to production anywhere. The world is now your studio.

MPC Studio Hardware
The USB powered MPC Studio is a production powerhouse that was made to move around with ease. Now you can easily fuse the power of the MPC with the processing power of your laptop anywhere you wish to take it. The ultra compact design is less than 1" thick, making this unit able to neatly fit in most bags and cases with room to spare. There are 16 backlit genuine MPC style pads that give you the same legendary MPC workflow and MPX Swing. The overall design is sleek with low-profile knobs and an all aluminum body to protect the core components of the unit. The large LCD screen allows you to make tracks without the need to look at the computer screen, freeing you from constantly relying solely on your computer to produce music.

MPC Studio Software (version 1.4)
Akai's exclusive MPC software makes the transition from the original box to your computer a breeze. 128-Track sequencing ability will provide you with plenty of options when cruising through the massive 6GB+ sound library, including all of the sounds from the original MPC3000. There's instant mapping and real-time adjustment of VST plugins, and the ability to record each track as an MPC drum program, Keygroup program, or VST/AU program. The MPC Studio software supports WAV, MP3, AIFF, REX, and SND audio file types, as well as any samples and sequences from any MPC ever made. Use the software as a stand alone DAW or inside of your favorite workstation as a VST or AU plugin. The software is both Mac and PC compatible.

New features in version 1.4:

¢ 64-bit support for PC/Mac. The standalone application, VST and Audio Unit plug-ins now have 64-bit versions
¢ Ability to load samples when playing
¢ Ability to export return buses
¢ Auto-save function (see preferences window)

¢ LCD sample editor supports zoom and scroll
¢ MIDI clock receive
¢ Ability to alphabetically sort the samples list (see button over the Sample list)

A Monster in a small package

By Greg Scoggin

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline:

What can I say, the MPC has been my go-to music making machine for two decades.... I have had MPC's going back to the 2000xl and prior. So is it worth all the Hype, this 'new' MPC setup? Well, using it for two days, I can say, the portability and functionality of the software brings the MPC into the new millenia and after sitting down with the is the familiar format and then some.... This thing absolutely has taken the classic MPC workflow and actually made it easier (if you can imagine that possible but indeed, it HAS gotten even easier-many of the classic MPC 5000 functions are just turned into visual mouse clicks-such as time stretching and Patched Phrasing-won't go into detail but it is just a breeze to use this software and its timing is massively tight, just like all MPC's-Akai NAILED this software version on their first go around). It has all the features of my 5000 save for it runs plugs internally, too and that just makes it your one stop go to production machine from start to completion (minus DAW mixdown, of course). I will say installation was not without a few glitches as Version 1.1 crashed while scanning my Audio Units on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.6.8 (32 bit). I upgraded to the just released 1.2 software and rescanned the audio units and everything went smoothly...and I am running a lot of whew..wipe the sweat.. Lastly, the MPC Studio hardware is brushed aluminum and flat out classy. NO cheapo plastic anywhere on this two pound slimster and its machined and polished fascia is very diminuative yet powerful in that it has all the necesary MPC buttons you would expect...and the back lit pads and buttons are flat out useful and helpful, let alone visually appealing. I think the only thing they could have improved on the Studio was to have allowed the pleasantly lit blue screen to tilt back toward you like on the Ren or 5000 but I get around that by propping it up on a book and no worries. All and all, I LOVE the new MPC and the software and feel it is worth every penny that I paid for it...

This thing is a BEAST!

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline:

I've had my MPC Studio for about a week now, and I'm absolutely addicted. The more I play with this thing the more I find out it can do... this bad boy is a pad controller, a sequencer AND a sampler all in a package smaller than most laptops. It even comes with a carrying case, so you can just throw it in your laptop bag and go. Although the unit is extremely sturdy and well put together, I would recommend that you purchase the Pro Coverage too simply due to the size and portability of the unit... especially if you plan on moving around with your MPC as much as I do. From a production standpoint, the Studio make my life MUCH easier. You can use the MPC software as a standalone program or as a VST plugin in your computer-based DAW. I do most of my work in FL Studio 11, and if you have ever worked with FL Studio you know that finding the right sample can be extremely cumbersome if you have a large collection of sound kits. The Studio eliminates this problem with 5 favorite folder locations to access your most frequently used sample collections with the click of a button, and the "Auto" feature that allows you to audition each sample by simply scrolling through the folder. And really that's just the tip of the iceberg.... I could go on for days. However, the Studio is not flawless... even if the couple of flaws I did find are kinda nit-picky. I had difficulties installing the samples and plug-ins that were included with the unit that seemed to be due to the quality of the discs.... I was however able to eventually get all of the content loaded. Also, I wish there was a way to rearrange the tracks in the track list. But overall I would DEFINITELY recommend the MPC Studio to anyone using a computer-based DAW who likes to produce music on the go.

Just what I'd been waiting for

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline:

Ive used AKAI gear since 1994. Ive purchased the AKAI S950, MPC2000 and MPC2500. I have used Software based programs Since 1999 Acid pro,Reason,Nuendo,Cubase,Fruity Loops, just didnt feel right..I saw the NI Maschine in action and I always wondered when is AKAI going to fully involve themselves with a full fledged production software. So I was very happy when I saw the MPC Renaissance and MPC Studio especially since software V.1.4 came out. The best of both World for me. MPC feel with software editing and capability

YES... Buy It

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline:

I love the MPC! I've always been inspired by watching producers like Bangladesh and Zaytoven use the MPC. This is the least costly way into the MPC life. The software comes with decent sounds and amazing samples BUT is not very affective as a stand alone program. Its not easy to map out and do efx like you would be able to in FL studio and REASON etc. I run the MPC studio vst through Ableton Live 9. It does exactly what you would expect from any MPC. Perfect for software users even protools. I've had it over a year, never got bored with it.

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline:

Had the mpc renaissance but retured it and got this one due to its size and portability. The renaissance had to many bells and whistles that I dont use. The mpc studio is everything I ever wanted in an mpc but in a much smaller package while being portable.I am now able to make beats quicker on the fly while using all of my vst instruments and effects. First I bought the mpc1000, sold it then boughtnit again, sold it and bought the mpc2500 and the mpc2000xl, sold them then bought the mpc studio. That should tell you how good it is. This is my favorite mpc of them all. Get it while its still available before this model gets discontinued. By the way the newer model in black looks awesome.
