Exceded expectations.

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Renaissance Controller:

First off I don't typically write reviews BUT this product compelled me to. If you're reading this review you're probably very familiar with drum machines and maybe deciding between spending the extra money on this or native instruments maschine. I sold my mpc 2500 and contemplated the same question. I purchased native instruments maschine in 2011 and I liked it but I didn't love it. The workflow is innovative but very different if you're an mpc user. The pad response isn't quite instant, so It had to go. I later heard about the Renaissance and purchased it. THIS DRUM MACHINE IS worth the wait and the money! It includes all of the legacy sounds (mpc 60, 2000/2000 XL, 2500, 3000, 4000 and 5000) and I had it up and running in the first 15 minutes. It's built like a tank. The pads feel great and the lights help when sequencing. The built in audio box is a nice feature so no need for a mixer when sampling directly into the mpc. Take your time when deciding because it is your money after all but if it is on this product you won't be disappointed

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Renaissance Controller:

Just Bought this MPC and First impression was great, Software is a little buggy still and thats why it doesnt get a perfect 5. It was Very easy to setup on my 8 core mac pro and mac book pro with Mountain Lion. Im sure something Ionic as the MPC will receive proper updates to remove the bugs

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Renaissance Controller:

I bought this product with hopes of it working.... for about 15 to 20 minutes, then the audio starts popping and distorting. I tried to get help from Akai,I've been going back and forth with their techs for about 2 weeks now about latency, audio buffer size, sample rate and whatever else they had me try. They tried to tell me it's my computer. I have a windows 7 64-bit home premium PC, Intel core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM.. Oh yeah i haven't even had the computer for a month yet, and to top it all off they won't even give me my money back. Money that i work for. $1100 right down the drain. They told me i have to take it back to guitar center. Oh... guitar center said " we can't take software back." Even though Akai software is free to download and they can approve a resale. Soooo disappointed. I was actually considering more Akai products, but after this whole experience I'm not so sure.

Best controller I ever had!

By Laron WilliamsLaronW

Comments about Akai Professional MPC Renaissance Controller:

I had some troubles receiving my MPC Renaissance but was like a kid in a candy store when it finally came. The easy way of loading the drum pads is nice! The expansions which are included with the purchase (The Wub, The Bank, The Noise and The 809 is too hot. The MPC software is so easy to learn, it has everything mapped out for you! In the past I had a MPC 2000 and a MPC 2000XL that I loved so much, now that the MPC Renaissance is here I got that MPC feeling again and still love it.
