• Great Drum Machine

  Have had this for a while now, used almost every day for the past 6 months or so. Sounds are phenomenal, they are studio quality and very hip hop usable. Very easy to use machine once you spend some time with it. Yea, it's not an MPC and you can't sample any other tracks but it says so right in the description so comparing an mpc to this is useless. Awesome for beginners and great for all users. I would say this is really utilized for hip hop. The one complaint I have is the amount of recording space it has, there should be alot more tracks to use. 99 beats get made quickly. Ok, the synth sucks. The sounds blow in comparison to the drum sounds. The one hits are awesome. I take this thing with me everywhere. Another thing, if the battery gets low the screen will lose the info on it. The XR isn't broken you just need to hook up to the power cord or put fresh batteries in.

• great little drum machine

  I bought this little machine to hold me over until I could afford an MPC and it was a great choice. This is a beat production center and you can make decent beats with it but it's really just a great drum machine with a few bass sounds and synths. The bass and synth sounds are limited but the drums are what really make this a good pick-up. The use of the XR20 is like that of a stripped down MPC so when I finally got an MPC, it was even easier to learn it. Now I keep the XR20 around as a companion for my MPC for whenever I need a quick clean drum sound or simple bass. Also, the pads have the musical notes on them and for someone like myself who isn't the most musically inclined, it was a breeze creating a drum track and bass line to jam along with on my guitar.
