Ahead's 3-Zone Pad features Moongel, hard rubber and medium-hard rubber surfaces, giving the musician multiple playing surfaces to chose from for practice. The hard rubber surface feels like a marching snare drum, the medium-hard rubber surface offers a quiet acoustic sound for practicing at home or in classroom environments when concern for other's environments is a priority. This zone approximates a concert snare feel.

The Moongel surface helps build your strength in that there is almost no rebound, which helps the player develop strength, flexibility and accuracy. The Moongel and the hard rubber surfaces are each 3" in diameter. The medium-soft rubber surface covers the remainder of the pad's surface area.
