Watch the Video!

from Napoleon, OH

Comments about Ahead Custom Molded Earplugs:

My first attempt at these didn't work out---the plugs refused to cure in the time indicated by the instructions. I contacted Ahead, and they sent me another pair free, only requesting that I watch a video that they linked to me in the email. The video included some things that were helpful, and in combination with the written instructions I was able to achieve a pretty good seal on my ears, the right one especially. In my experience, these do not cure in the time specified by the video or the instructions. I had to leave them in about 20 minutes in order for them to harden enough to pull out of my ears without damaging them. Fitting them takes a little practice, but they do a pretty good job. Considering custom molded plugs are generally ten times what these cost, they are worth investigation for anyone who doesn't like foam expandable plugs or muffs. Ahead's customer service is outstanding.

LIke these better than other plugs

from San Diego

Comments about Ahead Custom Molded Earplugs:

First, its a little weird shoving something in your ear that looks like... well, your ear. But I will say this, I have tried the Hearos, the yellow plugs, the silicone things and various other sound blocking apparatuses to drown out my dang drummer! What usually ends up happening is I pop em out after ten minutes because I cant hear enough of the music to judge timing, pitch, etc... These seem to work much better, Instead of blocking the ear canal they fill up most of my outer ear. When I sing they resonate (much the same way your skull does) and I can actually hear what I'm singing instead of everyone else's instruments. It's not a substitute for an in-ear monitor but its the next best thing.
