Based on the popular Tone Hammer pedal, the super-light Tone Hammer 500 bass amp head combines 3 bands of flexible EQ, a colorful Drive control, and 500 watts of power in a 4 lb. package. The Tone Hammer 500 will give you the legendary "Aguilar Sound" while still fitting into the accessory pouch of most gig bags - the perfect choice for bass players on the go.
Despite its size, the Tone Hammer 500 head can crank out 500W of Class D power at 4 ohms (250W @ 8 ohms). The EQ section boasts Bass, Mid Level, Mid Frequency, and Treble controls for precise shaping of your sound. Additionally, the Drive control features Aguilar's proprietary Adaptive Gain Shaping circuit, letting you add subtle distortion and EQ for that extra punch that a track or performance calls for.

I purchased the TH500 solely based on the light weight and Aguilar's great reputation. I have been gigging with their cabs (GS112) for years. What a pleasant surprise when test the TH. Great tone. Useful, flexible EQ section, and the Drive function. Despite it's small size and weight, this is a very well built unit. Typical Aguilar quality. I purchased this head as a lightweight rehearsal alternative, but as good as it sounds and with the flexibility, it will be seeing some gigs! At my first rehearsal with the TH500, it worked perfectly. I tried several different setting of EQ and Drive and the tone was amazing. We do a variety of songs and the TH500 covers them easily. I wold highly recommend this head!
I had the hardest time deciding on a new bass head. Mostly because at this price point I was considering the Tone Hammer or the GK mb800. I am very glad I went with this amp. Most amps have their own color they ad to your sound, GK gives it a bright in your face upper mid range bite which is great for some music, but hard to tame without drastic EQ. The Tone Hammer on the other hand is VERY full and warm, but if you want it, it will give you that same aggression. The controls look basic, but give you amazing control, they are very responsive. Just a great all around amp! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
I have owned the TH500 for about a year now...nothing but love. It POUNDS, and travels like a feather. Amazing tone and clarity. More than adequate EQ, that does what the knob says. I love to push the "Drive to about 2 O'clock" and let her run. 4 pounds is awesome, but best of all is the consistent durability of this product. Night after night, she will deliver everything you want. I use it for Studio, great balanced out! Love it for stage. You will be heard.
This amp is really light weight, great voicing and has lots of headroom. This is a great amp, is the best out there. The sound is phenomenal, and even thought is only 500 watts is really loud. Did I mention that is loud? I use it with an aguilar gs 412 cab and its a perfect match, great lows (tons of bass), mids and highs, everything is there. The drive control is also a great addition to the amp, which gives a vintage vibe, and overdriven sound. The amp is really simple to use. The DI sounds great too.
