Overview

The Aguila Octamizer gives you an analog octave pedal that features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds, so dialing in the exact amount of each is a cinch. The two discrete signal paths on this bass octave pedal also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities.

The Clean Tone control uses a Full Spectrum Tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone.

The Aguilar Octamizer's Octave Filter control is a multi-pole low-pass Filter that lets you shape the octave sound from smooth and deep to edgy and aggressive.

Should be on your board

By Hey Bert

Comments about Aguilar Octamizer Octave Bass Effects Pedal:

I love this pedal. I've tried a few pedals before I bought it. I used the EBS Octabass, MXR Octave Deluxe, and the POG stuff. The Aguilar tracked the best. Out of all of them it sounded the most organic. If you like to use dis, fuzz, overdrive, envelope filter, it works really well. It brings back the lows that some gain effect pedals take away. I did have trouble with the Aguilar pedal when trying it out at the store with their Jazz Bass 5 string. When I used my Traben it was great. Don't make any decision until you use your own rig when it comes to pedals.

Cool Novelty, Not Very Practical

By Michael

from Sandia Park, NM

Comments about Aguilar Octamizer Octave Bass Effects Pedal:

Affords some very cool tonal effects and coloring, but most of it's not practical unless you're playing in an avant or free jazz combo, or in a metal band. Tends to muddy clean tones because the tracking's just not as great as the claims. I really wanted it to be better, but it just didn't fit into my signal chain or most of the rock I play. I returned it; others may have better experiences.
