Acoustica debuted Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 at the 2012 NAMM show and released it officially in late spring. The Mixcraft name has always been known as a well-equipped, highly intuitive audio recording program that orients itself at an affordable price point, and Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 is the most capable version yet.

It contains many critical features for an audio program like graphic equalizers, compressors, limiters, room emulation, guitar effects, et cetera, but Mixcraft 6 also includes more sophisticated effects like pitch correction, parametric EQ, guitar amp and cabinet emulations, and other signal oprocessing that is often found in standalone programs.

There is also a mastering section that features common tools for finalizing recordings. New in this iteration is a great-sounding studio reverb, a 31-band equalizer, and a sophisticated delay. In addition to its own proprietary mastering tools, it also features the new iZotope Mastering Essentials plug-in.

Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 ships with the Acoustica Instruments collection, which includes orchestral instruments, guitars, bass, drums, synthesizers, pianos, organs and more, all mapped to General MIDI. The Acoustica Expanded Instruments collection goes heavier into synth timbres with a wide selection of complex pads and washes, and a stunning grand piano called œPianissimo Virtual Grand Piano.

The vintage keys library includes Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, MiniMoog, Prophet 5, Hammond B-3 organ, along with Vox and Farfisa organs for just the cheese you need. Mixcraft Pro Studio also includes detailed MemoryMoog and Yamaha CS-80 synthesizers. There is an additional drum library as well, rounding out an surprisingly complete set of music creation timbres in addition to a wide selection of audio editing tools.

It is compatible with nearly any VST effect or VSTi instrument plug-in, and works with Acid and Garage Band loops. Mixcraft hosts ReWire applications to control other DAWs, sequencers, and drum machines, and sync everything. Mixcraft is compatible with virtually any FireWire, USB, or internal audio device, using Wave, WaveRT, or ASIO drivers.

The Best

By Trevor reese

from Tallahassee FL

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 6:

I have used many different softwares since I began recording and Mixcraft is number one of all of them. Aside from Pro Tools 10, this is the best software you can ask for. It is perfect for Live or virtual recording, albums, demos, scores or beats. It comes with the essential virtual instruments necissary to create anything you can NEED, but I would advise you get some more if possible. Also what Mixcraft allows you to do with overdubing and mixing is paralleled by no other. I would have purchased this even if it had been five hundred dollars.

So Simple to Use !!

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 6:

Got this based on reviews I read and as a frustrated Sonar user I have to say this software made my dream of recording happen right out of the box. Navigating and instructions are simple and straight forward. Virtual Instruments are great. It even allows for 3rd party VST's to be used so all the toys in Sonar are available and EZDrummer as well. I will not change my software after this !!

So far, so good

By Dale Meyer

from Des Moines, IA

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 6:

I just received the Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 and have been very impressed. I am a "hobbyist" and do not claim to know much about digital recording. This software has been incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Within no time I had tracks laid down and was mixing my own songs. Great selection of virtual instruments and clips. I am looking forward to a long and productive life from Mixcraft Pro Studio 6. The only draw back so far: The 212 page manual came only on the DVD and I wanted a hard copy. It was going to cost me almost as much as the software itself to have the 2-sided color manual printed at a printer.

My Favorite DAW!!

By William Callan

from Greensboro, NC

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 6:

I don't write a lot of reviews but thought this software deserved my attention. First off, I've been using Mixcraft for many years, and have seen this software grow into something truly professional. It can easily compete with all of the other professional programs on the market today and is a steal, price wise. I do own other software, including Protools, but I use Mixcraft 99.9% of the time. As a singer/songwriter, I've easily recorded over 100 songs with Mixcraft and can't image using any other software. The plugins that come with Pro Studio 6 are really good, but you can easily add your own favorites like I have. The bottom line is: Do you want to spend tons of money for software that won't yield any better results than Mixcraft? If you do, that's fine, but I'm sticking with my favorite DAW in the world, and that's Mixcraft!!
