BIG sound, relatively small $$

By LEE

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120H DSP 120W w/G412A 4x12 Stereo Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this beast on sale and online this summer, however it was back-ordered and I was able to pick it up about a week ago. For the sale price, it was worth the wait, and testing it out at home also proved rewarding, and confirmed that my decision to buy it was a good one. The first thing one should know is that my amp and 4x12" speaker cabinet did not come with a speaker cable, so I had to borrow one from one of my other rigs (NOTE: A regular guitar cable will NOT work). Once cranked using a 1978 Les Paul, the palate of sounds available through this big amp was definitely usable, and more than simply acceptable. Since the looks of this rig practically demanded that one play Led Zeppelin through it, I cranked "Good Times, Bad Times" w/o DSP effects and with a modicum of on-board overdrive through to see if it would dredge up high school gig flashbacks, and was not disappointed. Although obviously more crunchy due to the solid-state build, a degree of warmth can be attained by working through the knobs, and with the guitar most appropriate to the task. (Next stop: Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing" using a Strat...!) Bottom line: A TON of sound and vibe for what many small combo amps cost - if ya want "the look" of using a big rig, but don't want/need to shell out big buck$, then this beast will get the job done.

Is it Metal enough ??? ......Yes with Pedals

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120H DSP 120W w/G412A 4x12 Stereo Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Bought this halfstack on sale at GC, I had 500 bucks burning a hole in my pocket when i walked in. I found this Amp at the store like 45% off, Had enough left over to buy a low end 7 string to mess around with. I took a chance and I am happy with my Decision. PROs Solid construction, punchy as hell, Loud enough to drown out a drum set, on board effects are decent enough, cleans are very nice favors low end, kinda bassy, Mid scoop for the metal heads. Cons The gain, you will need an overdrive, tube screamer or distortion pedal to get any sort of metalish sounds, foot switch not included.

You Got A Marshall?...

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120H DSP 120W w/G412A 4x12 Stereo Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

That's what my bass player asked me when I took this beast to practice (he hadn't see the name on it yet). After having this amp for about two weeks now, I have to say that it really performs exceptionally well for the price. The rest of the guys in the band are happy with the sound of it too. The features, power, and sound quality are great! For far less than the more expensive half stacks out there, I HIGHLY recommend it! My first "con" is that there are no lights on the front panel to indicate which channel is active. The effects are varied and more than adequate, if you choose to use them rather than outboard pedals or processors. My second is that there is no footswitch included. Not a big deal because I purchased a two-button Hosa and a 10 ft. stereo cable for under $20. In short, if you need a low priced half-stack...buy it. You won't be sorry. Thanks Acoustic, tooo!!

Wicked Sick!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120H DSP 120W w/G412A 4x12 Stereo Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I got this for my solo acoustic project. Yes that's right, I play with an acoustic-electric guitar through this guy and I don't have any complaints. Very full sound that you can fool around with to get what you're looking for. Honestly, after 10 minutes I figured out where I wanted all my settings and haven't touched them since! This half stack has been on a two month tour with me and is an absolute beast. It can fill a hall, but not overwhelm a club.
