I bought the Loar LH-309 & LH-319 arch-tops with P-90 pickups. My old amp was the Peavey EFX-112 100-watt acoustic amp. My Peavey amp sounded good with my flat-top acoustic guitar with a piezoelectric pickup. However, my arch-tops with P-90's sounded like a banjo on steroids. I then got myself a V-Tone Acoustic Amp Modeler, with very little change. Then I tried the ZOOM A-2.1 Acoustic Effects Pedal, & I became frustrated. Fast forward through a hundred more youtube videos, I sensed that I might need to try a tube amp, but a quality tube amp is expensive. I saw this amp advertised on my facebook wall. When I read one of the reviews about this amp wanting to sound like a tube amp, I decided to try it. Wow! What rich tone & distortion & Loud!! My girls sound so good with the Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp. Thanks For A Great Deal Musician's Friend!!!

I am a weekend guy who does not play much any more. I was looking for an inexpensive amp that got good ratings. I went to my local GC fairly certain I would take this home. When I demo amps in the store I always set the EQ halfway and all volume controls down before I even turn on the power. I started off with the clean channel and noticed it was pretty loud as soon as I began turning up the volume knob. I switched to the OD channel and turned up its volume and was so startled I almost dropped the guitar. You know those dots that surround the knob... before the indicator even reached the first dot it was very very loud. I played with it for a few more minutes seeing how hard it would be to keep a lid on the volume but I never got to really listen to its sound quality. I knew I would never be able to use this at home. If you are thinking of a practice amp for home you may want to pass this one by but if you want something loud for playing out definitely check it out. I ended up trying the Yamaha THR10 and it seemed loud with very good sound quality even while I played through it in the large main store display area. I ended up ordering the Yamaha, it should be plenty loud for me and a lot easier to carry if I ever need to leave the house with an amp.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

Volume control is way too sensitive,it's all or nothing with level. Also at random there is a very loud popping sound when playing. Other peoples' reviews noted a popping sound when powering on and off. I have this issue too but can eliminate it by turning down the effects level pot.Otherwise amp has decent sound and power. Got mine for under two hundred clams so I will live with the quirks. Sorry I cant recommend this to a friend since it does have these issues.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is THE hidden gem of the solid state stuff on the market right now. It's ideal for the player who prefers an analog setup to digital modeling, and who likes to use pedals and outboard gear for tones. It does basically two things really well right out of the box: a crystal clear clean tone similar to a Roland JC-120, and a tight high-gain metal tone reminiscent of Pantera (it nails the Dimebag tone even easier than the Randalls on the market now). If those aren't what you're looking for you can combine it with any quality OD or distortion pedal and generate whatever tone you dig without issue. The clean tone is the perfect foundation for that. The high and low sensitivity inputs and parametric mid control allows for a tonal flexibility that many more expensive amps lack. The two channels are footswitchable and it has an effects loop. It is extremely loud...turning the volume up above one is deafening, and it will definitely keep up with your band. The built-in effects are pretty decent...basic reverbs, delays, and chorus...and designed to serve as subtle, always-on effects in the background. The only real issue it has is its a bit noisy on the distorted channel but you can put a noise gate in the FX loop to control this. Absolute great buy and a solid piece of kit for any working musician in need of loud, reliable gear.

I was unable to listen and hear how the amp sounded as it was difficult getting my guitar cord into the input jack and when I finally got the cord into the amp the amp did not work.. Was very disappointed.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP 120W Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned this amp for over 2 years. The comments about the popping sound when turning off are on the dirty channel only. I have a 2 button foot switch that turns on/off the effects and selects the channel. The amp does not come with the switch and does not have one available. I bought a Hosa FSC-385 switch which works fine. If you select the clean channel before turning the amp off there is no popping. The same is true for the white noise. The dirty channel has the noise as a distortion function. Clean channel is fairly noise free. Not that it is a Crown but for a guitar amp acceptable signal to noise on the clean channel. I think the volume disparity is due to not using an audio tapered potentiometer. For the price this amp is hard to beat.
