My new favorite amp.

By Charles Forssi

from Lompoc CA

I bought one of these amps with the g4-12ac celestion cabinet and I have never been happier with a new amp. I have always bought Vox all of my life but this amp sounds better than a AC30 that I own. The tone is crystal clear or gutsy and the amp outchimes the Vox. I am thinking about buying a second unit with speakers because it is such a great deal and price. This amp is number one on my list.

Lacks punch

By MARK HERMANSON

from lake forest california

I bought this amp on clearance at $199, with the matching celestion speaker cab at $149. The cabinet is sealed, so you get a lot of bass, might be nice on a Fender, but I play Les Pauls. The set up is much more directional than my old Buggera, I am actually thinking of cutting out the back. The cleans sound clean, and the lead channel does its job. If you are expecting a Marshall shred session, not gonna happen. Even turned up, it doesnt seem to blast compared to other amps, I have a feeling it is due to 50 watts and the sealed back cabinet. Now the positives, it has triode mode, so, when set correctly means I can bring it down to 12.5 watts, meaning I can get the tubes good and heated before I play, for a practice session in a band setting, switch to 25 watts and not blast everyone out, then live, right to 50 watts. For beginners to intermediate, especially at the price I got, you cant go wrong, for someone serious gigging, yu can spend your money better elsewhere

Best tube amp out there for the money.

By Charles Forssi

from Lompoc, California

I recently received one of these monsters and I must say it is the best amp out there. Not only does it look cool on stage, it roars with total great tone from shimmering clean just like a Vox AC30 to metal grunge which sounds like any Marshall. Together with the G412AC cabinet, it makes a terrific package that rivals any Marshall for 1/2 the price. It is built like a tank and the 4 button footswitch makes this amp a keeper. Try to get one of these and you will not be unhappy. Best tube amp out there period.

Golden Tone!

By EDWARD LANZILOTTA

from Tallahassee, Florida

I did a lot of backround research before purchasing this amp. I was trying to find something that would be able to replace my old Fender Hot Rod. I came across this guy one day and instantly knew it was the amp. I waited and waited for the money and eventually got down and bought it. I have now owned it for a little more than 3 months. I am absolutely in love with this amplifier. One of the big perks for me was the power section. For guys like me who will have nothing but 6L6 tubes, this is a dream come true. the clean channel on this amp is fantastic. Very reminiscent of my Hot Rod. And the real spring reverb really adds to that. The amp is set up as 2 channels with 2 modes per channel. I find a use for all 4 modes. The lead channel alone is perfect for classic rock. The clean channel on high gain gives you a perfect blues tone. Flip on the high gain mode on the lead channel and you are set for shredding. The boost is a very handy feature and adds too solos, and it CAN work on the clean channel. The footswitch is rugged and takes care of everything. I paired it with the matching G412AC. The cab is a bit directional, but its great. Overall this is an amazing amp and well worth the money. You'd be crazy to turn this one down.

Who the heck is Acoustic?

By Russell Richardson,Jr

from New Orleans

I honestly have only saw this amp in guitar center in the back row by the solid states for the past two months and never thought twice about it.I wish I had played it sooner because this thing is a respectible fist tube amp. The clean channel on this thing was awesome. It has great headroom and the bright switch really gives this thing a great feel, think of a R&B funky kind of vibe. As far as the dirty channel goes I thought it was pretty awesome. Think of that High Gain California 80's tone. With the right presence settings it really cuts and the notes sustain for a good while. I tried to get a good HEAVY sound out of this thing, but it did not quite get there. Close but not quite.A pedal would get you there, but I dont feel that I have to use a pedal on an amp that I will spend hundreds of dollars on. That's why I can only give it 4 stars. It does sound awesome on low volumes though...
