Overview

The Acoustic B200 professional combo is designed for large club and live applications where the sound of its 15" bass driver and horn will fill the stage with warmth and punch. That's because it pounds a massive 200 watts RMS into the internal 15" speaker, delivering the classic Acoustic pro's tone in a portable, professional design.

The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical--even at high volume levels. The B200 also includes a frequency sweepable -10dB notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your bass's tone.

Rear panel features include a parallel effects loop, tweeter on/off switch, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B115 or B410.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200--a seriously professional amp for serious bassists.

The Best for the Price

By Chip H.

from Virginia

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Simply the best for the price with a graphic equalizer where you really make your own sound, but don't be fooled by it's size this amp kicks. I keep my gain at a quarter and volume half way and i'm almost drowning out a drumset, and not losing my tone. John Paul Jones, Jaco and many others played acoustic. It's ideal for small gigs and practice. I recommend to anyone ready to take the next step in bass playing

A truely vintage masterpiece!

By I'm not giving my name to a machine!

from Granite Fall, WA

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I've been sold on this combo for quite a while now. I like to play the Geddy Lee signature bass through this and am able to get some superior vintage, crunchy growls from it. On top of tone, the internal speaker works as 4 ohms and therefor can tuely get all 200 watts out of the head for outragiously high volumes without distorting! Simply the best 200 watt combo I have ever played! Many thumbs up!!!!!!

Best Price as Good as any Bass Amp

By Mike Wise

from Scottsdale, Az

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I have been playing 6 string Guitar and 4 string Bass since 1963. Over the years I have owned alot of equipment. This is as good a Bass amp as you can get for the power rating, and the price is more than fair. It is a straight forward basic very good amp. I have only had it for a month so I don't know the long run but so far I am more than pleased. More money does not always mean more amp. I will be recording with this amp starting in January 09. I have never taken the time to write one of these reviews before but I feel this time I should.

the return of a true bass amp!!!!!!!

By izzythe bass man

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

When i went to look for a new amp to hook my 2 beast in to little did i know what i was in store for. lets begin with the power this amp has true to the the name. it will knock you off your feet. the lows are rich and deep and the mids are there to feed the sound. the horn is there if you need to add crispness to your sound. the e.q is a work of art you can shape your sound any way you want the notch is excellent you need not crank it full to wake the dead please if you in the market for a new amp give this one a try. i did and i love it. i have been playing27 years and this amp is how they used to make them it kicks.

Very Pleased!

By Art

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Bought this the other day to use as a stage monitor for myself, we use house sound or bring our sound guy for club dates to replace flaky G-K head and 4x10 cab. This thing is great. Cuts through with clarity and has volume to spare. Moves easily with a caster kit I added and has functioned pretty well in my practice space when needed as well. I considered the Ampeg BA115HP, SWR 1x15 Workingman and a couple others in the price range. For tone, portability and volume this one wins hands down. I almost bought the B450 which is a monster combo but this will suit the 80-300 people sized clubs we play at.

Old School Growl

By Calling Dr. Love

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I've played Acoustic amps for over 25 years. Now the big name in bass back. This amp fits my style of play. Low, ground shaking powerful tones. With this amp, I can keep up with multiple guys shredding with their Marshall half stacks with no problem. I hardly ever use the horn option. This amp rumbles hard and shakes the foundations. Great for bars, halls and medium venues. Very versatile tone controls, but if you like loud, resounding, heavy big bottom ballsy growl, this is the amp for you!

Amazing amp at a low price

By Zac

from Randolph, Ohio

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I've been looking for a good amp at a fair price, something I could use for both practice and shows. I bought this yesterday and I'm completely sold on it. The sound is clear, even when I cranked it up and the 6 EQ settings make it easy to perfect your sound. Also, for people who might be just beginning to play or don't know what sound they like, the manual gives you a few EQ setting ideas to play around with. I bought the casters to go with it, but you really don't need them. They make moving across a stage easier, but the amp is actually not that heavy. And it has additional outputs leaving you room for expansion. Overall, the Acoustic B200 is a compact amp that packs a punch and won't kill you're wallet. A definate recommended buy.

new review- must have for any jaco fanboy!

By ryan

from lancaster

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

i play a fender standard jazz bass, and a customized dean bass, both rumble solidly through this amp. this amp is extremely easy to use, the contols are simple and it only takes a few minutes of eq adjusting to get an awsome sound. the active and passive inputs are very nice. this amp provides a clear low end thump through its 15 inch speaker. it also can deliver sparkeling highs due to a hi-horn which can be turned on and off seperately. the only problem i have with the sound is that it starts to hiss a little bit at high volumes. the amp has nice tolex, metal corners, recessed spring loaded handels, and a degently heavy grill all of which i like. i traded a cheap guitar and a cheaper amp to offset the cost and im very happy, if you can do this then go for it. if not then i still think its worth it. also the 3 year limited warrenty this amp has rocks!

BANg for your buck

By Thisnamerox

from Northern NJ

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I needed a new amp to play gigs with but didnt have much money to spend, i saw this and went for it and it has been amazing since. 200w through a 15"speaker gives you all the loudness you need and a 6 band eq with a seperate distortion knob and a horn give you the ability to shape basically any sound you want. it is quite heavy but the amp comes with casteres making it easy to put wheels on. Its great playing live cause it gives be the lows and highs to be heard through out two guitarists and for bigger shows you can either mic it or the amp has a XLR line out to put into a pa, and even a line out to add a cab if you wanted. Overall this is a great amp and i am very pleased with it, if your thinkin about buying it don't hesitate.

I was suprised!

By Los

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I love this this amp! When I heard it I had to have it. The best part is being able to really dig in to the EQ and get the sound you really want, and you can't beat the price. The other great thing is it has a direct out so you can expand if you need to. I play it (volume) at about 12 o'clock it blows me away. I recommend this Amp. Try it. I think you'll love it too.

Best I've Used

By Name

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I've had this amp for a little over a month now and i must say, this amp is simply amazing. I have used it at a few gigs and use it when jamming with my frineds all the time. I can easily drown out the drummer without even going to half volume. The EQ is great for dialing in literally any tone imaginable. the lows rattle anything they can and the highs sound crystal clear. There really is no better value for an amp than this.

BASS HIT

By SUNNMON

from Antelope, California

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

Gentlemen, I am no fan of combo's. I staggered into Git-Cent to check out some basses. Plugged them into this little Dynamo and was pleased with it's performance. It worked as expected and delivered decent tone and volume for a product of this type. Keep in mind that I am not a "combo" guy but if I was in a Praise band or needed a travel amp/back stage amp this would likely be it. I would recommend this to friends who like combos. Looks good, well made. Need a combo? Buy this one and you'll be satisfied. Peace and Happiness to all

Great Amp

By Noah

from Buford, GA

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I recently joined a band and was looking for an amp that I could afford and was loud enough for gigs. I looked online end was immediately sold. This amp is the best for the money. It has great tone and versatility. All I can say is that I could not be happier with my choice.

Careful with the knobs

By Kevin

from St Joseph MI

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

In addition to my review of last August, I'd suggest you watch the silver caps on the knobs. Gigged it for the first time last week. When I got it in the club I noticed one of the caps was missing. Luckily I found it in the parking lot and nobody ran over it. Before we started playing, I pulled on all of them as a pre-emptive measure and three more came off in my hand. When I got it home, a little nudge with small screwdriver popped three more off. A total of seven of nine came off with minimal trouble. I used some gel super glue to reattach them. The last two are fine for now, but I'll try a little harder to pop them off and reglue them. Another bone is that they give you caster sockets, but you can't buy just the casters. I had to buy the full set, so now I have four unused sockets with screws. Kind of a waste. Oh, and it filled the small club just fine. Add an extension 2x10 and it's all I need for now.

BLOW A HOLE IN THE SKY!

By Dr. Guild Your Lilly

from Fayetteville,GA

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

This thing rummbles.....very well, if your into some Les Claypool time aroma, then you need to check this one out. I'm not lying the highs are crystal clear and the lows melt your face off! You can also hook a cab to it! By itself it drowns a drumset and is loud enough for a small gig.

Small Box Goes BOOM!

By Andy

from Southington,CT

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

I play my Geddy Jazz Bass through this amp and I can get great Lows and growling mids w/horn. I play in a Hard Rock?Metal cover band and a Jazzy Jam Band. This thing is well worth the money! I'll be adding the 410 cab soon. This amp can blow my guitarists Marshall half stack. The eq is great. Take some time to experiment all the tones. You can get a very close tube amp sound from it. All I can say is go for it!

GREAT for the money

By Aaron

from Williamsburg, Virginia

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

This is a GREAT bass amp for low money, with a lot of power and eq options. It gets very very loud when you need it too. At top volume, it gets a little distorted and doesnt sound that great. EQ can also be very tricky to adjust. If your looking for something loud for cheap, get this. If you looking for something with a lot better quality, i would suggest trying an ampeg. This is great for small gigs or playing with a band through a drumset.

don't judge by it's price

By doc allen

from cincinnati area

Comments about Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo:

the only reason i didn't rate it a 5 was the grill cloth is a little flimsy, that being said i was extremely impressed with both the sound quality and power of this amp. i had been an amp fan for years, but now that i'm up in my 50's it's just too much to schlep around 2cabs and a head. they list the shipping weight at 75 lbs,the amp weighs 67. the lows are deep and rich ,not muddy or boomy, which i really dig (i'm old school). the eq on this thing is grrrreat! you can get about any sound out of it you want. i was really surprised how warm it sounds since my old rig was an svt and i'm used to tubes, i was sceptical until i tried it out. the direct out with a level control works nice for recoding (did that on 3 sessions)or for running to front of the house, which you popbably won't need on must medium size club gigs. this puppy is LOUD!!! great bargain if it was twice as much, and i'm a tight wad.
