Great Combo Amp!

By Iain

from Colorado Springs

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this combo amp about 6 months ago when I initially started playing bass. It seems much louder then 10W and has a suprising tone range for the limited EQ. Small and light enough to take almost anywhere and durable enough to survive a tumble. The headphone jack allows for silent practice at night or in apartments etc. I've played on it for almost 7 months and it still sounds as good as the day I got it. Awesome price too. Definatley get it if you are a beginner or looking to play solo. Not good for anyone wanting to play with a drummer, the drums will drown out the bass. Other then that I love it!

great amp

By Alfredo Hernandez

from Granada Hills, CA

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

i got this as a first amp when i first started to play. This amp is very nice. I can go from a low muddy heavy metal sound to a crisp and clean sound. this amp is only a ten watt but it is loud. I can hear myself over the whole band and they use 20 watts. They have to tell me to turn it down. And when i play guitar i can hear the bass clearly. i use a squier p bass with humbuckers for the neck and single coil for the bridge. i use both pick-ups and through this amp it sounds amazing. and the cd jack helps me with my timing on songs. the only problem for this amp is that when the amp volume is all the way up and the low is as well, the sound gets alittle to muddy. But after that there is nothing wrong with this amp. I use it to practice and if used it for gigs at my friends resturant. its just an amazing amp.

Small Package, Big Performance!

By Al

from Washington, DC

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

Like the last review I too needed a practice amp to learn on. After reading all the user reviews (the only ones that matter) on all amps in the price range I was ready. I went in 2-weeks with a budget before my purchase not expecting too much. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when I tried this puppy out! I tried it with an Am. P-Bass (my model) and it played pretty well. The versatility of the high, low, and mid are good. The input is handy for playing along. The headphone jack is good for not waking the neighors during late night practices. The sound is robust enough for 10W at low to moderate volume but expect some distortion at higher volume levels. It would be best to adjust the controls with a good pair of headphones for good measure. Now of course its no pro-level setup but for the money this practice amp cannot be beat!

great first amp

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp for my little brother last christmas after he picked up a warlock bass from a friend. Ive been happy with my b410 and b200 from acoustic, so I went with this amp for him. After hearing him and playing on it myself while giving some lessons, I ended up going buying myself one also. Its a great amp for when you dont feel like tearing the house down, or if your just beginning. I would definitelly reccomend this. And for the price you cant beat it.

Don't let that 10W tag fool you

By SyM

from Nashville, Tennessee

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I came in to the store wanting to buy a peavey MAX 158 bass amp, because of its cheaper price tag. However, one of the staff suggested me to spend an extra 20 bucks for this amp, and I have not looked back since. The sound quality of this amp blowed me away. As soon as buying this amp, I went for a quick jamming session with a couple of friends and the sound of my bass could clearly be heard, and the best part: the volume knob was only turned halfway. AWESOME. Definitely a must buy for you beginner's out there looking to buy your first bass and amp.

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

i just got this amp about 3 or 4 days ago and i am very satisfied. ive only been playing for about 2 months but this amp meets all my needs. although as stated in some other reviews the sound gets a little distorted when the volume and low are turned up. but i had a behringer v108 and i blew it out in 3 days and it was a little more pricy and cannot compare to this amp. great choice for practice

Great Little Amp

By James

from Harrisburg, PA

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp today at the behest of my wife, who was tired of hearing me whine about not being able to practice or play along with some of my acoustic-strumming friends. I've been playing for years, but haven't had an amp of my own in a while. My Fender P-Bass sounds exactly like a P-Bass through this with the tone controls all the way down, which I really dig. I can't give it five stars because it hisses when I turn the high up, but I don't play that way, anyway.

AWSOME Amp

By TJ

from Paola, KS

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

This bass amp is perfect! i just got my Peavey Dyna-Bass 5-string a couple months ago and got this amp a bit later. It is perfect for my needs. I have to take it with me to practice so weight was a factor as well as performance. It weighs as much as my bass+hard case so its perfect. easy to use, has great sound quality, and enough variable effects for me. Add an effects pedal and you've got a great practice amp set up. or just go with the sound the amp and bass makes. either way, you wont regret it

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp right before a practice because i was afraid of blowing out my line 6 guitar amps speaker trying to match the drummer, and i was surprised that i could actually be heard when we did a video recording over both guitarists amps, the drums and the vocal amp, great practice amp recommend it to anyone wanting to get started on bass.

Good Amp for Practice. Don't expect anything more

By AfroDuck

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

This amp is a pretty good practice amp. It won't wake your floor mates up when you're playing in the middle in the night, yet still maintain good clarity and good tone. However, do not expect that you can practice with a full band (unless your drummer uses an electronic drumkit - even then, you're really pushing the amp). The amp begins to sound really muddy and messed up if you crank the volume knob at 2 o'clock and greater. Definitely not good for your speakers. If you intend to play for a couple of small venues, get at an amp with at least 50W. In a nutshell; perfect practice amp - nothing more than that.

Very good bass amp.

By Rory Phillips

from Chesapeake,Virgina

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this bass amp and was very surprised at how you can pretty much get any type of tone you want.It can also get very loud as well! I am happy that i got this one over the other amp i had in mind to get when i had first went in. There is only one problem with it,sometimes when i turn it off it will make a loud POP and i would like to get it checked out but other then that it is a very good amp. If you'r not going to buy one at least try it. John Paul Jones had these type of amps and i can see why he likes them. Very good amp.

Excellent practice amp

By Russ

from Vee-Dub, OH

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

I recently found myself in the market for a cheap practice amp I could easily throw in the car, unlike my Line 6 LD300. I tried out the Peavey MAX 158, Fender Rumble 15, and Acoustic B10. The Peavey sounded pretty muddy when I tuned down to drop C, and the Fender didn't sound good even tuning up to drop D. That's probably because both of them have an 8" speaker, though. The Acoustic is very clear and seems to possess a very unique and warm tone that doesn't begin to distort until the volume is 3/4 of the way up. The headphone jack and aux in are awesome for jamming along to your iPod or cd player late at night. After having played through this amp for about a month, I can say honestly I like the sound of this thing even better than my Line 6, not to mention it's easier on my back to move and doesn't take up my whole back seat. It's the perfect cheap amp for smaller apartments or throwing in the car to go jam with your buddies.

Amazing for beginners or advanced

By Jay Floyd

from Alabama

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

if your a bassist on the go then this is what you need. it gives a great "clean" sound that's excellent for slapping!! with 3 EQ settings you can get just about any sound you want out of it. its lightweight so if you got to go to a buddies house and jam, it makes it that much easier. however if our playing with an acoustic drum set or just anything thats loud this aint going to cut it, but its 10 watts what do you expect haha. but weather your just starting out or been playing for years, i highly recommend it.

Acoustic B10 Bass Practice Amp

By dave hughs

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

First off, I suspect that the store demo unit had a better speaker than the one I took home...it sounded GREAT n the store. The one I took home disappointed me a little, as compared to the store unit. However, after the addition of some acoustical damping in the speaker cabinet, and after the speaker has broken-in some, it's much, much better. This little guy is perfect for what I needed it for; a bass amp that gives full bass tone at a level which won't have my wife & daughter yelling at me to turn it down. It appears rather robustly built; very well constructed. Simple but functional controls. The 10" speaker allows it to produce thicker bass tones than a 8" or even 6-1/2" speaker such as some other bass practice amps have. I think now that I've got the speaker sorted out, this is probably the best bass practice amp on the market in terms of tone. I'm amazed that the mfr. didn't think to add some damping inside that speaker cabinet, because that simple addition improved the overall sound quality by a couple of orders of magnitude. I've emailed Acoustic and told them about this; maybe they'll consider the idea. Competitively priced, good build-quality, good sound. Recommended.

Compact, Great Range

By Donny Rothwein

Comments about Acoustic B10 10W 1X10 Bass Combo Amp:

Great, that's all I can Say. I got this as my First bass amp and love it. Does good as a practice amp I use it for everything, even brought it and performed at church one time. Not much space or weight. I absolutely am amazed by the low end, believe me I've put that to the test. Great as an entry level, however if you plan on gigging on a large scale, I suggest something larger. However, This is the only amp you will ever need for practicing!
