The 3 band EQ with sweepable mid band provides satisfying control over your tone. Also included is a selectable effects section, with 16 high-quality digital effects, including reverbs, delays and choruses. Just picked this up a week ago and I was very pleased with the way it sounds. Our band just started doing acoustic gigs so I picked this up to use in smaller venues. Our other guitar player bought one as well. The effects switch gives you multiple combos for different sounds. And it is handy having the 2 channels to input the mic. My only issue is that both channels share the effects. So if you are using Echo/Reverb for the guitar, you will also get it with the vocals. They have seperate volume controls but the effects are not seperate. I might upgrade to the AG60 which offers seperate effects and EQ on each channel..

Not the best for Classical Guitar

Tried this amp with my nylon string Classical. Not the sound I was looking. Bought the Ultrasound Dean Markley AG15 1x8, and what a beautiful sound. Big difference.

Perfect!

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I recently went to my local GC to look at getting a Vox Pathfinder 15R to haul around to small gigs and to practice with. Instead the smaller version of this amp, the 10 or 15 watt version caught my eye. I played on it a few times with a CHEAP guitar, and could not believe the great sound the amp provided. I eventually searched the store and found this bigger version, which fits my needs a lot better. I love this amp and would recomend it to anyone.

Acoustic 30 watt

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Very nice amp... this might sound weird but this beat out my Peavy with 2x12's and was on distortion. This amp is great for both acoustic and electric and is 10x more portable than any amp with the same noise level.

Astonishingly good sound

By Nash Barr

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

If you're looking for an acoustic guitar amp or small P.A. with a truly clean and almost perfectly neutral sound, this is it. Most small amps sound "boxy" or "honky" - but the Acoustic AG30, almost miraculously, is virtually free of these problems. Absolutely superb for acoustic guitars, acoustic/electric guitars, male vocals, and female vocals - it will make your instrument or voice louder without changing the tone at all (unless you intentionally tweak the tone controls). The tone controls have a wide range and are very effective. I was able to dial in the sweetest tone I have ever heard from my piezo-equipped acoustic-electric guitar. The built in effects are excellent too, and I am particularly fond of the reverbs and delays. To me, this amp has only two negatives: one, it is rather heavy and bulky to carry to a gig. Two, the tone control and effects are shared by both inputs, so you can't dial in one setting for the guitar and another for the vocals. The sound quality is so good, though, that I would not give up this amp without a fight! I set the AG30 for the vocalist, and use a graphic equalizer pedal to fine tune my guitar tone. The Acoustic AG30 is one of those rare audio products that is truly outstanding where it matters most - in sound quality. It's perfect for use as a stage monitor, P.A. for small gigs, or practice amp. I liked it so much I bought a second one!

GREAT little amp

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I picked this amp up because I was in a jam and needed something fast that I could pay for with what I had in my wallet. I cannot believe the sound that I get out of this 30w acoustic! The effects in the head are outstanding with lots of preset options to choose from. The sound is terrific. It has a good bit of volume and it stayed clear. The only problems I had were: Too small-hard to compete with the rest of the band. I had to really rely on my floor monitor, and The design of the cabinet is great if you intend to keep it on the floor. The angle is way too high if you use an amp rack, which I do, and there is no way to adjust it's angle. (I ended up putting my drummer's stick bag across the back of the rack to get it to sit at a usable angle. A length of 2x4 would work very well.) Great little amp for intimate settings if you are playing solo. Would easily work for a gig in a coffee house, small private party, etc. I just ordered the AG120S to give me a little more to work with with the band, but I'm hanging on to the 30. Really nice and you can't beat the price.

great acoustic guitar amp!

By Mike M

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I spent a lot of time at GC trying out this amp and was sold on it. For the money you can't go wrong with this one. I was looking for a good amp to do small acoustic trio gigs with and this fits the bill. I tried it out with a cheaper acoustic guitar off the wall and it reproduced the clean acoustic guitar sound well and has some nice onboard effects too. I am a bit of a reverb nut and I can dial in the sound I want exactly. Only negatives are that you can't use different effects for channel 1 and 2 at the same time and there's not DI out, only a line out, but again for what it costs it will get the job done.

Beautiful Amplification

By Josh Felton

from Baton Rouge, LA

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

The AG-30 Acoustic amp is an amazing purchase. I got mine with a Taylor Grand Auditorium (That helps too) and it is a perfect combination. It has no feedback to it (unless you are not smart and turn guitar to it). Probably the coolest thing about it is that you can hook it up to a P.A. System. The effects are added with it and it doesn't take away from the quality of sound. The only negative aspect about it is that it is heavy. That could be a good thing, though, if you need the exercise...

Clear tone

By Brad Kosowan

from Indianapolis, IN.

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Having just purchased this amp. I was amazed at the precise and clear sound amp. even with headphones. Even at only 30 watts, with the "monitor" angled cabinet, I was having no problems hearing myself when jamming with others and the line out running straight to a mixing console was an added bonus. Practicing at home I run a drum machine into one of the inputs or you can use the 1/8" Aux. jack for a drum machine or a walkman or any MP3 player and use the line out straight to a 4 track recorder. I highly recommend this amp for casual players to semi-pro players.

Nice, clear and clean amp

By Armanger Comfort

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I use a pair of these for acoustic sets and vocals in small restaurants/clubs. I've looked at tons of the boutique type acoustic guitar amps and they all sound like tin can compared to this. The Acoustic AG30 won hands down every time. The effects are good, and since both channels use the same effect depth, i bought two, one for guitar and one for vocals. For 199. you cannot go wrong, Just take the plunge, you will be glad you did.

GREAT for the money

By Bill Miller

from Ohio City Ohio

Comments about AG30 30W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Just returned all my electric guitar equipment went for the acoustic route Guitar to play with or without amplification. My Ibanez sounds GREAT when plugged in to this amp. It can get a variety of tones and easy to haul around. It does have a major setback as it is a 2 channel but all effects are run on both channels at same time. Would be unbeatable if you could control effects separately for vocals and guitar. But that said it can be worked with. I would recommend this product especially if just starting out. I have played off and on for 40 years and finally have come around to acoustic set up. So go ahead spend the small amount and get a ton of satisfaction. Next thing is I will probably upgrade to the 2 channel with separate effects. GREAT JOB Acoustic!!
