Overview

The AG15 acoustic amp is the perfect starter piece for acoustic guitar players looking to amplify their instrument, especially for those playing small clubs and coffee houses, who want to cart around a light but reasonably loud amplifier.

With its angled-up wedge shape, the AG15 acoustic amplifier is designed to maximize projection. For warm, full-frequency sound, it features an 8" studio monitor-style speaker for soft mid- and low-frequency response and a coaxial tweeter for ultraclear, sparkling high end. The front panel is simple and easy to use, but intended to give you satisfying control over your tone with a volume control and 3-band EQ. Also included is a built-in chorus effect with its own depth knob and on/off switch.

For quiet playing, use the included 1/8" stereo headphone jack; and for pre-recorded accompaniment, the AG15 amp has an 1/8" stereo aux input. Plug in a CD or MP3 player and play along. Finally, a Line Out affords you the opportunity to send your signal to a PA for amplification in larger spaces.

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp at a Guitar Center used. I am a intermediate guitar player and this little amp can wow you with the clarity and volume for its size. It is well built, not to big, great for easy storage and easy to carry with you to small parties. Love the chorus button. The only thing that is missing from this amp is that there is not an extra input for the mic. All in all this amp is a great purchase.

Absolutely Wonderful!

By Emmanuel

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp about a year ago, and it works as if it was still new! It's just the perfect weight for it's design, and it really fills up the area with great sound. The lows come out great, the mid-range sounds amazing, and the highs are crisp. It's kind-of an all-around amp, good for music/music-playing, movies, and parties. I usually use it as a sub woofer, and the suspension is great, and the hollow body design really adds to the bass. The only con is that...it can't go to the absolute MAX volume (with the knob), but maybe if you control the input's volume, it'll come out fine. TL,DR: This is a great, durable amp for pretty much anything!

Great little amp - after a little tweaking

By Perry Simons

from Scottsdale, AZ

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm just a "home" guitarist who was looking for an inexpensive amp for my acoustic/electric (blew my budget on a Martin GPCPA4R). After doing a little investigating and reading reviews, plus stumbling upon a great sale at my local Guitar Center, I jumped on the Acoustic AG15. Having used the amp for about eight weeks now, I agree that for the size and price, it's hard to beat this one. Controls are easy to use, is good looking, and seems to be made of solid materials. BUT . . . out of the box there was a terrible buzz, mostly on the bass notes. I figured it was a bad speaker and had even re-boxed the amp to return it to the store. Hating to pass on the great price I got for what otherwise seemed like a nice product, I decided to do a little "fiddling" that wouldn't void any warranty or stop the store from accepting a return. I narrowed the buzzing down to the back plate on the amp (where the power cord plugs in). After slightly loosening the six screws that hold the plate in place (yes loosening, not tightening) and even adding a thin piece of cardboard under the edge in one spot, the buzzing is gone and the sound and tone is outstanding for its size. One shouldn't have to do this sort of thing, but I figure it's kind of like setting-up an instrument so it will play the way you like. Glad I did it and kept the amp. It would have gotten 5 stars if I hadn't had to supply some labor and adjustments.

Small Amp BIG Sound

By Jaime Garza

from San Antonio

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This is an amazing amp! It really kicks if you increase the volume. The sound is rich, crisp, and smooth at times. The knobs are great they work very good for their functionality. It is not that heavy to carry around. The quality of the material is okay, and the handle is durable. And overall good buy for the money!

Are you sure it's only 15 watts??!!!

By Kyle Covey

from Parker, CO

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I had a Crate 10 watt acoustic amp, and after 6 years it started cutting out and finally died. I read all the reviews on acoustic amps under $300, and decided to keep my price point low being after the holidays and all. Plus I use this for writing in the studio more than anything else and didn't need a large amp for my needs. The AG 15's reviews were spot on! I did not play this in the store, but bought it off of the recommendations here. It is full sounding, the controls are minimal and simple, and the design is cool! It projects the sound where I want it most, and I was in awe at the overall output this unit provides! I thought to start near '3', and had to turn the volume down from my guitars (Had to turn down a 45 year old Hofner 6 string with a Seymour Duncan SA-1, and a 12 string Breedlove)! The only dislike for me was the Chorus effect. It was not quite as natural, or chimey as I had hoped; ok for coloring the sound but I did not like it past '2 or 3' as it tainted the sound in a mechanical way. I wish Acoustic had made it with a Reverb instead, as this would have been more useful for me. (I almost went with the Kustom that had more watts and a Reverb but kept to my price point). So far a solid choice that I am very happy with.

Great sound for the price.

By Steven White

from N. Mankato, MN

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been playing semi-professionally for over 40 years. All types of music on weekends. This amp is great for my acoustic trio. It is a perfect size for small clubs; lightweight but plenty of power if needed, allowing the natural sound of the guitar to come through. A bargain for the money...

Great Sounding Amp

By Brian Przystawski

from Louisville, KY

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been playing guitar for about 6 months now. A friend of mine recommended that I purchase an amplifier for my acoustic-electric guitar. After reading all of the reviews of amps in this price range I decided on this one. I also purchased a Monster Cable to connect to it. Wow! What a difference! The sound is really impressive. My guitar (Fender cd140sce) sounds amazing through this amp. I went to the Acoustic website to look for suggestions for eqalization settings and tweaked the sound so that it sounds perfect to me. I look forward to plugging in and playing every day. You will not regret purchasing this excellent amp.

Just enough but not too much!

By Stephen Canfield

from Ann Arbor

Comments about AG15 15W 1x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I use this as a monitor on stage with drums, bass, and other instruments. It is just loud enough to be heard but not so loud that it pushes the stage volume. I found that with the Fishman electronics in my Taylor 314ce it produces a very usable sound. Don't be fooled by the 15 watts, its plenty of power...and it doesn't have the honky mids and no bass tones that most 8 inch low wattage amps have. It is very worth the purchase.
