Overview

With an angled-up wedge shape, the Acoustic AG120S acoustic guitar amp is designed to maximize projection. It features 2 - 60-watt power amps for 120 watts of true stereo output of your guitar and vocals. For warm, full frequency sound, the speaker cabinet features 2 - 8" coaxial speakers with tweeters for excellent mid- and low-frequency response as well as ultraclear, sparkling high-end.

Both channels on the Acoustic guitar amplifier have dual inputs, featuring 2 combination inputs—each input accepts a 1/4" unbalanced or XLR balanced input, so you can plug in a variety of instrument/microphone combinations. Individual channel volume controls for each input accommodate a variety of level needs, and peak indicators warn you when your signal is getting too hot.

3-band EQs with sweepable mids on each channel make it easy to get solid tones for 2 separate instruments or instruments on one channel and microphones on the other. Included on each channel is a selectable effects unit with 16 stereo effects, including reverbs, delays, and choruses.

Additionally, the rear panel features an effects loop for incorporating external effects with or without AG120S's built-in effects. The Acoustic guitar amp's master volume control gives you greater control over your overall output when used in conjunction with the channel volume controls.

Ho Hum

By Tony

from Manvel, Texas

I just purchased the AG120s. The first thing I noticed was the humming sound. As I listened closer I noticed there were two different hums. One was the fan which wasn't bad at all. The other hum sounds like there's a glitch in the wiring. I found this out when I hooked my earphones to it. I could still hear the fan but the other louder hum was gone. It actually sounded pretty good, but as soon as I unplugged the earphones the loud hum came back. I would hope the manufacturer could find the problem and repair them free of charge. Other than that, the sound is pretty decent. The thing is pretty heavy though. It's portable but it's a heavy portable. 64 lbs is kinda heavy compared to some of the others. I'm planning on returning it and trying out the AS50D. I've heard a lot of good things about that one and the AS100D.

Poor quality, humming, buzzing, noisy fan

By Howie Silinski

from Matthews, NC

Bought this amp for classical and acoustic live playing and recording. High pitched fan sound and noisy humming sound right out of the box. Read about similar issues on other websites after the fact. This is going back to the store!!! Also put a Alto kick 15 beside it, much cleaner sound on the Alto... it may be a keeper.

Peaks way too easy! (Buzz and fuse)

By ANTHONY JAGER

from Beaverton OR

I bought this amp to replace my older crate and wow was I disappointed in it! It can't handle my powerful mid-range voice without crackling out and fuzzing (worse with effects on {which are not that good either}) and not even the addition of a compressor petal couldn't keep it from crapping out. My advice? Don't buy this amp.

Enough Is Enough

By Robert Albano

from Metairie, LA

I LOVE the AG30. Needed something bigger so I bought the 120s. Got it home, opened the box and found it damaged. Brought it back that day. None in stock so we looked at the floor model. Effects on channel 2 not acting right on that one, so they ordered one for me. Came a week later. Got it home. HUGE fan noise. Really odd low and loud humming sound when turning the unit on even before any cables were plugged into it. Master volume level quit working the second time I used it. It also had the same problem with the effects that the floor model had. Now, all that said, when it did work (the humming was intermittent. Sometimes turning the unit off and then on again would stop it. It did this in two different locations, so it wasn't outside interference) it sounded GREAT. Clear, loud sound. Just too many problems, so back into the box it went and I got my money back. Played every other acoustic amplifier in the store and found the Marshall AS50D to sound absolutely wonderful. After the problems I had with the Acoustic B600H, I think I'm finished with the Acoustic line of amplifiers until they start producing a better made product. THANKS TO BEN, ZAC AND FOSTER AT GUITAR CENTER NEW ORLEANS!!!!!! You guys are great to help me out with this mess!

Great Amp for Vocals

By Thanh Tran

from Fremont, California

I purchased this amp from Guitar Center almost a year ago specifically because it had 4 XLR input ports. I've used it to accomodate four singers in events with up to 100 people, and it worked well each time. I use other amps for guitars and keyboards, and I do not know how this amp would perform with one of these instruments. However, I am completely happy with how this amp serves the purpose I had for it. I love the fact that it has phantom power in each of the four ports for condenser microphones. My money was well spent in buying this amp.

Awesome Amp

By Justdeb

from St Pete, FL

This amp is awesome! I play at church services and some outdoor events, and this amp has plenty of power to fill even a large sized room! It's tilt-back design is great for sound projection (I still use an amp stand to lift it off the floor) and it's built in effects are so easy to use. I use it with 2 guitars and 2 vocal inputs and the sound is amazing. Can't go wrong with this one, especially for the price!

great amp for vocals and guitar

By Ray

from Bayport, NY

I love this new amp. The vocals and guitar are awesome! I play at nursing homes daily and this amp is perfect except for the fact that it weighs 62 lbs. My "other" amp is a marshall as50r, and it weighs only 31 lbs. This acoustic has more than double the power, 120-50 watts, and twice as heavy, but well worth it. I tried the fishman loudbox100 and it can't come close to this for my purpose.
