  Out of the box this amp exceeded my expectations. It is lightweight but powerful. I tried it with my acoustic electric and got great sounds. With the chorus/reverb on it got even better. Within minutes, I found a signature sound for a classic song that I have re-arranged. I tried it with my 1-12" Carvin extension speaker and the tones got even better. If you want an amp that is portable, with great tones, lots of power, and great versatility, for the price, you can't do any better than the G100FX. This box rocks!!!

  I got this amp at Guitar Center because it was at a price that i could not pass up. The price was so low I was expecting to be let down when I played it, but what a nice surprise...it's a great amp ! It is compact in size but packs a loud 100 watt punch. Has a wide range of tonal quality and the mid shift switch adds presence. And with the dual inputs, one high and one low, it works well when using a mic and guitar combo. I use the high input for my guitar, and the low for my mic and they are almost perfectly balanced. Some amps if both inputs are used will equalize both. But this amp remains high and low.

  I'm just an old picker that only plays Gospel now after many years of the club scene !!! I have a decent selection of BIG amps, Vintage DSL 50 through 2 4x12 cabs, Fender Twin Reverb, Johnson Millenium stereo 250, Fishman Loudbox Performer, Acoustic B200H through a couple of Cerwin Vega 18's. But I needed something smaller and lighter to take to church without using a dolly and several trips. I just needed something in the 40 to 65 watt range and I wanted at least a 10" speaker but I really prefer a 12" for a fuller sound. I'm going to mic it at church anyway but I also need to use it for my monitor since my church doesn't have enough monitor lines for me to listen back without mixing my guitar with another guitar and there are always balance issues. I studied about the Fender Mustangs and had decided that's what would work good for me after reading all the propaganda about them. I've been doing this long enough to know not to order one unheard though so yesterday I made the 100 mile drive to my nearest GC in Lewisville, TX. It took a couple of hours waiting my turn to try out the Mustang II and III. These are modeling amps and I'm sure they are good units when used for their intended purpose but they are pretty complex for an old bird and I just couldn't get the crystal clean tone I was looking for from either one of them. I decided that I just wasn't computer savvy enough to use one of these to their potential. Being very happy with my Acoustic bass rig I decided to try one of the Acoustic Lead series. Man am I glad I took that drive. I first tried the smaller one, 30 or 40 watts I'm not sure, and it sounded pretty good. I then tried the 100 watt version with 12" speaker and was very surprised. It doesn't have all the amp modeling features that the Fenders have but what it DOES have is a crystal clear rythm channel. It also has plenty of grit on the lead channel and PLENTY of volume on either channel. Not a lot of effects but it does have the necessary reverb/delay and also a nice chorus feature. Just the basic knobs and controls so I can easily get the sound I want. Even though it is rated at 100 watts when using an external speaker it's still pretty compact and weighs just over 30 lbs so I can carry it and my guitar at the same time. As I said earlier it is pretty basic as far as current amps go but it will do everything I need for church and not break the bank or my back. I don't have to wag around all the effect boxes either. Most of my old amps are tube and I really like them but they have came a very long way with solid state in the past 40 years. I don't need to peel the paint off the walls anymore but this little dude is way more than loud enough. Even at very high levels on the clean settings it is virtually distortion free. I plugged a 2x12 Marshall cab in the external jack and all it did was get BETTER !!!! Not ragging Fender as I am still a Fender fan, for what I needed this dude is awesome. Compact, lightweight, user friendly, killer tones and plenty of horsepower any small to medium venue and at 250 bucks I couldn't be happier. WHAT A DEAL !!!! And no, this is NOT a paid endorsement.
