  I am a semi-pro bassist, so...my review should not be taken lightly, I know what I'm talkin' about. I started with the Acoustic B450 combo which is the best combo you will find, awesome tone. Later I added an Acoustic B15 Neo cabinet. This was a perfect bass rig, and the B450 stacked perfectly on top of the B15Neo...which made a great looking stack. I loved this rig. But...being a tone perfectionist, I had to get the just announced new B800H amp head. When I picked it up, I spotted a used B410 cabinet and since I lost 2-10's trading in my B450 combo, figured I'm gonna' need it for this new 800 watt rms cabinet. It turns out that the B15 Neo and B410 are a perfect match for the B800. (I live 26 stairs up, so the B810 would be impossible for me to gig with.) These two cabinet can handle the B800H just fine. I put rubber feet on the side of the B15 Neo so I could lay it sideways on the bottome, and the B410 on top. (This leaves about 1/2" on either side of the B410 beyond the B15 Neo.) I am thrilled, excited, and proud of this set-up. The B800H is from Acoustic's new line of products, and improvements have been made. This new line of Acoustic's added a built in (switchable) compressor which functions perfectly, has the same Notch Filter (switchable & adjustable) which is a must for tone fanatics, and a newly added Shape Pad which is great filtering out the highs and putting emphasis on the lows...great for Slow Blues...also good for knocking down walls! I've had this B800H for 3 weeks now, and I'm still fine tuning to the tone(s) I want to achieve my own individual sound. I am amazed at what this head can do, and now to the point I'm experimenting with the Overdrive & Overdrive Level knobs...never thought I would use these, but now I'm finding at the right adjustments just adds even more to fine tune my tone. If you can afford it, buy it...you will never need another amp head...I know I won't. (Unless you play huge, huge outdoor concerts...you could also get a second B800H 'cause they are made for slave set-up...but what would you do with 1,600 watts?...crazy but possible.) Sorry "other brand fanatics", but the Acoustic products far surpass Ampeg, Fender, Mark Bass, SWR and all the others...why they cost more? Makes no sense to me.

  I've had the B800H for 3 months now. Everyone compliments its tone. I am in the host band for a weekly blues jam and so I have a lot of bassist of all styles and basses, and they all love my rig. Since my last reveiw I've kept the Acoustic B15 Neo which pushes the lows too much as a stand alone cabinet. I've switched from the 4-10 cabinet to a GK Ultra Lite 15, which pushes mid's & highs (it's not capable of pushing lows so not a good stand alone cab either). However, with the two cabinets hooked up to the B800 I'm getting the full 800 watts and I get complements every week. I bought the Ampeg PF350 as a back up amp and it does fine although with passive pick ups you have to turn the gain way up to get the volume needed...great back up amp at 11 lbs). Anyway, I've used the B800H enough times at gigs now to say this is the best amp head out there at any price...no matter what your style, with all the tone shaping controls, you can get any sound/tone you want. I love this amp and so does everyone else that has tried it. BUT, I must stress that cabinets, speakers, and pick ups also have a huge affect on tone...so...if you're not getting the sound you want with the B800H, it's not the amp, it's you equipment. I use a Fender Getty Lee MIJ Jazz with DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups. I will never want for another amp, guitar, or cabinet. ALSO, make sure you know about ohms, parallel, and watts!
