      Acoustic B600H 600W Bass Amp Head (501093)

Ground-shaking output and precision control.

Combining massive output, advanced tone shaping, and convenient signal controls, the Acoustic B600H is an ideal bass amp head for dominating the stage or crafting your perfect studio tone.

The B600H amp has 2 inputs—one for passive pickups, the other for active—plus input gain and output volume controls. The clip indicator lets you know when your signal is overdriving the preamp, although with the harmonically rich distortion of the B600H's preamp circuit, that just might be what you want. The mute function coupled with the rear-panel tuner send lets you tune silently on stage. Add the 6-band EQ and notch filter into the mix and you've got total tone control. Generate deep, thundering lows, aggressive, punchy mids, or crisp, clean highs; any sound you want is yours to be had.

The rear panel offers an array of possibilities. Multiple speaker outs let you work with many cabinet configurations. The Direct Out with independent level control—which you can send pre- or post-EQ—is perfect for getting a solid DI signal to a console for live sound reinforcement or studio recording. The effects loop with mix control allows you to work with line-level, studio-grade gear for advanced tone shaping. Use the footswitch input to put the control at your feet for the complete bass rig.

  • Great Amp for the Price!

As reviewed by Troy on 7/3/2010

I ordered the amp over the internet (used some GC coupons) and had it delivered to GC store in Scottsdale. The amp was is very load; I'm using a 2/10's Acoustic Neo speaker~ great set up. As for the amp it is very basic and very easy to use. I wish they gave some more information in the owner?s manual about the notch filter. Also another Speakron input would be great, only one. Over all I would buy this amp head again. I love the mute switch it makes things very easy to swap out. In addition the best feature of this amp head is the 3 year warranty policy. Cheers!

  • Awesome, Powerful Head

As reviewed by Paul on 8/19/2011

I've had the 600h for a year now and the baby still kicking strong. A year ago I was scared to get it after reading some of the horror stories such as it only worked twice and practice then it blew, however this isn't the case dude just got a lemon. This head hasn't just been for practice Its been on the road for over thirty shows and to practices. Its built to last thats for sure and it can handle the power. When the blue light turns on and the fan starts to hum your ready to turn it up and make an earth quake. Theres a a volume, a gain, frequency adjuster and a notch filter basically turn on or off the frequency adjuster and go right off the equalizer. Theres a mute switch turn it on when switching/unplugging/plugging in instruments if you dont it clips real bad and you might blow some speakers. The EQ is pretty sensitive and will allow you to dial in your sound. The knobs on the thing havn't even came loose which is another plus. One thing I would suggest to someone buying this is for me any ways after inserting and removing the guitar chord into the head after awhile the pot for the jack gets loose and if you pull on it the damn thing might come undone basically the the metal outside of the input comes unscrewed so just keep an eye on them and tighten every once in a while. Always use speaker cables to go from your head to the the speakers and go go from there. The things sexy because when you turn it on everyone see that blue light yeah thats the bass amp its pretty much awesome. Get one!!!!

  • Best Amp For The Money!

As reviewed by KurtInTheDirt on 9/5/2011

I've had mine for 2 years now playing on a weekly basis just using an Acoustic 4x10 cab. It can easily hang with 2 guitar players. Many nights it has served as the house amp for all the other bands and I've watched the red clip light pretty much stay lit because of someone using too much pedal gain without turning down the amp's gain. I thought it would fry my amp but it has always worked perfectly afterwards with ZERO PROBLEMS! I use a Boss ODB pedal in front on a low gain setting to get my desired "dirt" but for many others this amp has good gain. I play finger picking death metal myself but it works well for other styles. Its a touch heavy but it is also housed in a sturdy box. Some people say its spendy but compared to everything else in its class its really not.
