      Acoustic B450 450W 2x10 Bass Combo Amp (105491534)
Availability:

Massive output, advanced tone shaping, and convenient controls make the B450 combo a must-have.

The 450W Acoustic B450 Combo Bass Amplifier is equipped with 2 inputs—1 for passive and 1 for active pickups. Additionally, the B450 combo offers you input gain and output volume controls.

A clip indicator informs you when your signal is overdriving the preamp. Although with the harmonically rich distortion of the B450's preamp circuit, you definitely should try overdriving it. Add the bass combo amp's 6-band EQ and footswitch controlled notch filter into the mix, and you've got total tone control. The B450 bass amp's tuner Send signal, coupled with the footwitchable mute function, give you the capability of tuning your bass silently on stage.

The Acoustic B450 bass combo's rear panel offers an array of possibilities. The external speaker output enables connection to additional speaker cabinets (down to a 2 Ohm load) for earthshaking bottom, and increases the total output to 600W (2 Ohms).

The direct out with independent level control—which you can send pre or post EQ—is perfect for getting a solid DI signal to a console for live sound reinforcement or studio recording. The Acoustic 450W bass amp's effects loop with mix control allows you to work with line-level, studio-grade effects for advanced tone shaping. The Acoustic B450 is the perfect bass combo for high-volume club gigs and more.

  • Everything you need in an amp

As reviewed by Dillon on 4/6/2010

I must say that this amp is one thing above all others, LOUD!!!!!!! 450 watts in its standard configuration, and when you add another cab it goes up to 600 watts!!!! I pair it with the B115 cab by Acoustic, and it is plenty of power for the 30 horn big-band I play with at my University. The only complaint that I have other than the weight of this monster, is the quality control. My "new" one came out of the box with a defective plug and a blown input. But the great guys at GC took care of me and got it all taken care of. Btw, I've played solid-body, hollow body, single coil, humbucker, and up-right through this thing and it sounds great for all. Only thing you need other than a bass is a multi-fx pedal and you're good to go for anything.

  • Great Amp

As reviewed by Wayne on 5/18/2010

After reviewing many amps, for price, sound quality and reliability, I decided on this combo amp. Here's why : First, I chose Acoustic for the price and great tone. It had most of the options the higher end amps offered like, direct out with vol. control, effects loop, toner loop, mute fuction, notch filter and a 6 band EQ, plus 450w or 600w in parallel with an optional cab. This is the part that may help you decide as well. I can run this cab alone for smaller venues, or add my 115 cab for larger. With the 600w head you almost have to run either the 8x10 cab, or a 4x10 and a 1x15 because of the high wattage. So the fact you can use this smaller cab alone helped me decide. I am more interested in the Mids and Lows, so adding the 115 cab really made some great lows with some great sounding Mids mixed in. So far I am very pleased with my purchase. It sounds great so far !

  • Buy it

As reviewed by Kevin Schuyler on 6/28/2010

I just played on the mainstage at Crossfest in Lewiston tonight. First time using the amp live. Was a bit worried but I'll never give it a second thought again. All those years I lugged around separate components and cabinets. All I'll ever need is this rig on a tiltback stand. I played it like a monitor facing up at me. Small enough not to be too "in the way looking". I faced it sideways so the guys could hear me and the soundman loved the setup since I wasn't blowing out into his mix. When I got home I mis-counted the steps as I took it downstairs on a dolly with no strap (never again). The cabinet took a nose dive onto concrete. I plugged it right in and it's absolutely perfect. So much power it is not to be believed. Sweet tones. Get a dolly cuz it's HEAVY.
