Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

I love this amp. I've had mine for years now. I used to run a small 1 watt Hughes & Kettner Cream Machine through it, then a Hughes & Kettner Blues Master, then moved on to a Pod HD500. Been working with the Pod running through this then 2 - 2x12 cabinets. Best sound I've ever has. This is light weight, 1 rack space, very quiet, and VERY transparent as well. Love this amp!!

Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

I use this in my guitar rig through a 4 X 10" cabinet, fills a 300+ seat room easy without clipping, flat response, no distortion, stays cool, your grandma could carry it. I've done 100's of shows using this without a hiccup.

Wanted a small and light amp for monitors

        By George

        from NY

Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

I was looking for an affordable, single space, light, rack mountable amp to power our stage monitors from our un-powered mixer. After doing a little research I chose the ART Sla1. Upon testing the amp I was very impressed with the headroom and flatness of the sound. I got to use it at an outdoor park venue powering two 15 inch stage monitors very successfully. I tested the amp with two 8 ohm bottoms and a Sansamp Tech 21 with my bass and found it to sound excellent. Bridged, it would probably make a great small venue Bass amp with the right preamp. I feel that this amp would be sufficient to power mains at a small venue with an un-powered mixer without any trouble at all. The only complaint is the lack of 1/4 jacks for the output as your only option is the binding post/ banana plug. Very solid little amp!

Professional quality at a good price

        By JR

        from Cleveland,OH

Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

This amp has loads of great features. One of favorites is the retractable controls. You can push in the volume controls so that they don't move from their positions during performance or while transporting. Plus, there is an additional tamper cover that can be placed over the front that can only be removed with a phillips screwdriver. Same goes with the stereo/mono switch on the back and the ground lift switch. Heavy duty casing...this thing is like a rock! Really bright blue LED on the front shows you've got power and signal meter LED show you've got signal. The only additional feature that would be nice to have is an actual level meter for each channel, but you could find that in higher priced amps.

        Excellent for all applications

Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

The Art SLA 1 is a bit of a legend in the music community. When I bought mine, I heard alot of positive feedback from fellow musicians. I don't know about the studio setting, but I do use it to power my guitar rig. This amp is lighter and smaller than I thought it would be, so it leaves plenty of free space in the rack. It has all the basics a power amp should have.It sounds great! It is alot clearer than other power amps I've used. I've seen alot of guitarists go broke buying a $1,000+ poweramp...I must ask WHY?! This is one of those hidden jems few of us knew about.Art is such a good company who believes in quality and customer care. I feel confident in this amp all the way.

Very nice for home studio use

        By mattybeast

        from Central Pa

Comments about Art SLA1 Studio Power Amplifier:

I like this Amp a lot. I use it primarily to power studio monitors, and I must say it does the job much better than the last 2 Amps I've used. It's very quiet even with the fan (it appears to be a simple matter to disconnect it). The sound is very clean and uncolored. Slew rate is extremely fast in my opinion. It did better than I had hoped when I measured tones thruogh it, although i do think the highs were a little harsh when i referenced music through it at high volumes(but to be fair I've only put about 40 hrs on it so far, more "burn in" should temper this). In short I find this unit to be a Fast, clean, and punchy Amp. MUCH better than several inexpensive so called "reference class" amps I've had.
