AMAZING for the price!

By Bobby Anaya

from Costa Mesa, California

I bought these headphones today, and I have to say, i'm so glad I did. I went to Guitar Center looking for some decent headphones I could use for the home studio for an acceptable price. And I ended up coming out with a pair of headphones with stellar quality! And for only $79.99! The clarity and base these headphones produce are just flat out amazing! And they are so darn comfortable its crazy! I could wear them for hours! I would definatly recommend these headphones to anyone who likes to record or listen to music at home!

for the price...

By Dante

from somewhere

I have both these and yamaha's HS80 monitors. And I have to say, these make the sound quite different compared to the hs80 or low-level speakers like a computer speaker. That means it comes out different and so you will mix differently if you do it on these. I do not like mixing on these. To my view they are bass-heavy and they boost some high frequencies making issues like sibilance and guitar tones sound different. If you mix on these than render it, you will see how different the sound actually came out. But man... at this price you shouldn't expect great headphones for pro tasks. That said I say these are great. On a last note.. It really hurts my ears after a couple hours with it. not talking about the sound, but its shape leaves little space for your ears to find room inside it. So my ears skin get in touch with the speaker and keep scratching. After hours it often even cuts a little the skin where it touched.

Great for the Price

By Derek

from Ontario, CA

Just got these for Christmas and was impressed by the accuracy of sound compared to monitors. I read great reviews of the K77's but apparently they were out of stock. Only thing to watch out for is if you have stretched ears like me, the ears wont fit snugly around your ears and your going to lose some low-end frequencies, so if you take your plugs out and make sure they're snug around your ears you'll get a more accurate mix. I also noticed that bleed through seemed to be a little loud. Something to keep in mind if you're planning on using these while recording.

Sweet cans for a great price

By Chris

from CA

These are some great sounding headphones! The padded ear pieces make it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time, covering the whole ear instead of a portion of it. The adjustable headband easily fits any size melon that you decide to stick them on. The sound is outstanding as well. No matter if you are just listening to music, playing a video game, or playing the guitar while jamming to a CD; these do the trick. I personally rather these headphones over my BOSS that ended up breaking on me. You won't be disappointed.

These are not your dad's AKG headphones.

By Manny P.

from Concord, Ca.

I was in a pinch and needed some inexpensive phones to finish a project. I didn't have alot to spend and a particularly helpful sales dude told me AKG K44s would give me the best bang for my bucks. Now mind you I'm not a big fan of mixing on phones but I had to do this to finish my project on time. I listened to the mix the next day on monitors and I was blown away at how accurate the mix was that I'd done on these phones. AKG - I'm sold.
