Not bad for the price

By Jason

from Maple Grove, MN

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

I purchased these after I could no longer find a discontinued AKG model that was recommended to me by my Pro Tools instructor. I really needed a comfortable set of headphones that wouldn't allow the audio to bleed out while recording vocals. First, let me say that these headphones are super comfortable. I oftentimes forget that I have them on my head. The output is also very clear, with decent bass reproduction, although heavier than that in my main monitors, which they should be anyway. I can crank the volume to about 60-70% before the sound starts to leak, but it does leak. For louder more aggresive tracks, I wouldn't recommend these for vocal tracking, but for most other things, they should be fine. All in all, I think these are a great buy for the money. I realized I can't ask for the world, so I'll be looking for a better pair for vocals. For everything else, they're perfect.

These are cheap

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

These headphones are comfortable, but feel very cheap and produce poor sound. Go with a different brand for the same price.

Comfortable and Quaint

By Nathan S.

from Salt Lake City, UT

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

First off, these headphones feel great. Super comfortable and I like how the adjustment is designed. The only downside is you can't make them super loud. They stay to quiet even for studio headphones. But for the price these headphones are a great pick and I would recommend these to anyone where comfort and price is a priority.

You get what you pay for

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

They're fine if your expectations are appropriate for $50 headphones. If you're really looking for an audiophile experience, I'd keep saving.

You get what you would expect

By Chris

from Virginia

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

I just got these and they're pretty good. The sound quality leaves a little to be desired (a little muddy), but they are very comfortable and seem sturdy enough to last a while. They aren't very portable, and they will take up a good chunk of space in a backpack. Overall, they're decent, with sound quality you'd expect and very good comfort.

Good for certain things

By Tyler Bloch

from Toledo Ohio

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

I bought these primarily to do late night editing work so i wouldnt wake people up with my monitors. I would never mix/master with these or any headphones. I wanted to see if i could use them to track drums with, so i hooked them up to a headphone amp, and while they worked fine for tracking, they now crackle. I would recommend NOT using an amp with these. Otherwise, they sound good!

Sound good and light weight

By Thomas

from New Britai, CT

Comments about AKG K77 Headphones:

I use them for an electronic drum kit I just bought. They are light, sound good and comfortable. They dont hurt your ears and dont make them sweat after wearing them for long periods of time. Bottom line is that they work well for what I use them for.
