Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

I bought my first pair in the 90's and used them up to last year and now i have the next generation and it's like not missing a beat. These feel and sound like my older pair so i don't even notice that they are a new pair.I like the semi open sound my ears don't get worn out like they do with closed in headphones.I mixed 6 CD's with the old k240's and hope to mix many more with these.

Can't be beat for the Price.

    Comments about K240 Studio Headphones:

Bought these to use in critical listening when producing the mix/mastering. I have to say after tons on online research and youtube videos I decided to go ahead and buy these. For the money you can't find much better. Extremely flat response with no real coloration of the music material. If you are going to headphones to help reproduce music these are the ones. What you hear in the phones will translate very well to the monitors. Really good soundstage. Obviously they are semi-closed phones so you will hear background noises through the phones. So make sure you have that in mind when buying. But overall these are excellent mixing/mastering phones for the price. Good bottom, great mid and high.

Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

I reviewed these headphones and they definitely seemed like the ones for me. When I got them I realized the error in my ways. I use electronic drums and if I'm monitoring with these headphones while drumming, I'm hearing the loud slap of my drumstick hitting the rubber pad. Fortunately I have Vic Firth closed headphones to use when I record my drum track and then use the open air phones for my mixes. I like the fact that I can communicate with my other band member with these headphones. Comfortable and highly recommended.

Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

If you are looking for headphones that produce an accurate sound, this is the set for you. They also have a great sense of space to the sound.

These headphones are the over the ear type which means they completely cover you ears. This is nice because they immerse you in the sound. The K240's do this without making your ears sweat. They seem to breath well.

They give a well rounded sound. Great for listening to music they it was mixed. If you are looking for a set of head phones that enhance or are bass heavy then these are not for you. However, I'm not saying they lack bass either. They just produce it the way it was recorded. If the song is bass heavy these headphones will play have no problem producing the deep bass sounds.

I have been throughly impressed with my K240's.

Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

There is a reason why these headphones have been around for so long and used in professional studios - They dont lie when it comes to sound. They don't enhance or detract from the sound. Just a flat response every time. You wont find Beats headphones lying around the mixing console in professional studios but you will with the K240's. Serious sound guys wont mess with junk headphones or eye candy because they look cool when wearing them. If you cant handle the truth get headphones like Beats! If you want the truth then get these!

Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

Having owned several professional recording studios over the years, a pair of K240's are always near the console. They don't "Make things sound great", they're just Accurate. When A/B ing between studio monitors and the phones, there's no drastic surprises, like "there's way more bass then on the monitors. This is true of course if your listening on accurate un hyped monitor speakers as well.
People spend way too much money on "signature" headphones. The AKG K24's will let you know what you've got in the mix and are a great value.

Comments about AKG K240 Studio Headphones:

These things give true sound. They don't enhance or diminish anything, just a flat EQ. I switched to these from Sony's for home recording, the Sony's sound better for listening, but don't give you an honest representation of what things will sound like through speakers during the mixing. I can mix with these in Protools, bounce an MP3 and be pleasantly surprised with the quality in my car, on my computer and headphones on my phone. I haven't ever had another pair that I can do this with.
