More is better, what a microphone!

Comments about AKG C 414 LTD Limited Edition Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I was not unhappy with my current microphones (Shure Beta 87A for vocals and SM81 for guitar)but I knew there was better out there. Microphones are not like some electronics where diminishing returns occurs in the price mid range, the more you spend the more you get with large condensors. I am amazed at the sensitivity of the 414, and the response is dead flat. Even though my current channel strips (Presonus Eurekas) are not in the same league with the 414 (it deserves a nice high end tube preamp) I am still getting excellent results in my non-professional home studio. The quality of any recording starts at the mikes, I am delighted with the 414 LTD.
