Since its introduction in 1993, AKG's C 3000 recording microphone has become a standard for a wide range of both studio and onstage applications. The redesigned C 3000 is a cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing product update which maintains the popular characteristics of the original C 3000, but with a sleek-and-classy finish showcasing AKG's corporate design. The AKG microphone is a great selection for both recording and live sound applications where maximum sound quality and robustness are a must, and the competitive price makes the C 3000 recording mic a must-have.
The AKG C 3000 microphone features a cardioid pickup pattern, a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, low-noise electronics, high-SPL capability, and an internal shockmount, which drastically reduces the mic's handling noise from mic stands or cables. The switchable 10dB preattenuation pad increases the SPL capability by 10dB and accommodates loud instruments like brass instruments or guitar amplifiers with ease. The AKG microphone's switchable first-order 500Hz low frequency filter eliminates the proximity effect for close-miking. The standard included accessories are a metal carrying case and a spider-type shock mount.
Proven for more than 15 years and affordably priced, the AKG C 3000 microphone is an excellent choice for every high-quality recording or demanding live sound application.

Bought this mic in a pack with the AKG C 1000S, and it works great for Vocals...Just did a number of overdubs vocals for a project I'm producing, and they turned out great! The attenuation pad and low frequency filter work great! Get this mic, and add it your mic locker!
I purchased only a short time ago and i switched out a neumann to use it. I guess if that isn't saying enough. I have a collection of mics and i believe i will use this as a mainstay in my studio. Just for it's strength, ease of vocal pick up with clarity and it's beauty...))o Recommendation: when using this mic for vocals don't yell win close(4inches) you don't have to and when you feel you have to yell stand at least(6inches) away. Also, turn off all settings offered that changes the mics pick up(-10)leave ate 0- the pad leave flat then do your yell thing. I'm pretty sure all the yelling artists will be happy about this info. Note: yelling is bad for your vocal chords....
This is a great little mic. Though it is pretty dark for vocals alone, I stumbled across a forum which suggested placing it in front of a guitar cabinet and haven't looked back. With its high spl capabilities, it does a great job in front of a blaring guitar cab.
