This package is perfect for amateur recording. If you cannot afford studio time or if your just playing around at home, this is the mic/headphone package. The mic produces quality recordings that are clear, crisp, and sounds almost professional. It has helped many of my friends record CDs, whether it be hiphop or classical music. It's perfect for any project. Of course many of my friends use Acid Pro, so I am not sure how it sounds with other recording programs, but as hardware its perfect. I highly recommend it for an upcoming artists in any style of music.
I gave this microphone a high overall rating due to the fact that I own four of them and, alongside my four SM 57's, they are probably the hardest working, and most reliable and versatile mics in my personal studio! At a given session one might find a pair of C1000 S's pointing down into the inner workings of my upright piano, another at he neck of an acoustic guitar (with an AT 4050 at the sound hole and an AKG C2000 B at the back)and yet another positioned inside a mounted tom on the drums! Try a pair as overheads on cymbals or a set of congas. The C1000 S likewise excels in reproducing the sound of latin percussion instruments and guitar amps. It's a great altenative for vocals, and the battery option comes in handy when working in banks of inputs with on/off phantom powering capability. The casing itself is practically indestructible. Believe me, this mic works like a dog!
