Very clean sounding mic

of course there are better products out there but this AKG 420 has what it takes to capture clean vocals. I am running it thru a Presonus Eureka with the optional AD192 expansion card to get pristine clear quality at 24/96k. The Eureka really makes this mic shine though. Without it and just placing it thru my M-Audio's Firewire 410's preamp gave kind of a boring sound. It was too flat like the vocals had no presence. Awesome microphone when paired with a very clean but Class A compliant pre amp/compressor. I especially love the fact that you can switch the polar patterns but I wish that it had only a 10db pad instead of 20db. I recommend this product to anyone wanting to get some clean vocals for their tracks just not by itself though with crappy preamps. AKG has very dependable quality products.
