AKG Acoustics warrants AKG products against defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase, and agrees to repair or, at our option replace any defective unit without charge for either parts or labor. AKG grants a three-year warranty covering selected products (C 12 VR, C 414 B-ULS, C 414 B-TLII, C 414 B-XLS, C 414 B-XLII, C 426 B, C 451 B, C 480 B, C 391 B, C 1000 B, C 2000 S, C 3000 B, C 4000 B, C 4500 B, SolidTube) against defects in material and workmanship.
Warranty is valid for AKG products purchased and delivered within the United States for the original purchaser only. The purchaser's Bill of Sale will serve as proof of sale and warranty validity in the U.S. Shipment of defective items to AKG for repair will be at the customer's own risk and expense. AKG will assume the return shipping cost for all items repaired under warranty.
IMPORTANT: This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse or abuse, lack of reasonable care, the affixing of any attachment not provided with the product, loss of parts, or connecting the product to any receptacle other than specified.
This warranty is void unless AKG Acoustics, U.S.'s service center performs the repair. No responsibility is assumed for any special, incidental or consequential damages caused by the consumer. However, the limitation of any right or remedy shall not be effective where law prohibits such.

I first bought a previous version of these headphones about 6 or 7 years ago. I liked that they folded up so compactly, as I bought them to use on my iPod while commuting the bus. They got pleanty of heavy usage. At one point, the sliding metal band came undone from one of the earpiece assemblies. A single drop of super glue and I never had a problem again. Recently, the ear cushion on one side finally came off and would have required a completely new cushion to repair. I don't know if that option is available. Instead, I elected to buy a new pair. I went out to Guitar Center's website and found that the, nearly, identical item was still available for about the same price as I remember buying the first set. So I ordered the replacement. Cosmetically, they look slightly different, but appear to be functionally the same. I like these headphones. They have good sound for such compact phones. They are way more comfortable than using ear-buds. And, sound better too. They are pretty rugged. I like the metal band. Previous folding headphones I have owned had a plastic band, which broke easily. The only dissapointment I have with the newer model is that it doesn't come with the little carrying bag that the older model came with. For me, this was not a big deal, because the new phones fit in the bag from the old ones. I definitely recommend these phones for commuters and others that need phones that are sturdy and fold into a small package for carrying in a purse, backpack, etc.
