The ruggedly designed, feedback-fighting AKG D 8000 S Dynamic Hypercardioid Microphone excels on vocals and instruments. Smooth, uniform response with an internal pop filter that's removable for cleaning. The AKG D 8000 S microphone also features very low handling noise plus a recessed, noise-free on/off switch. AKG Acoustics warrants AKG products against defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase, and agrees to repair or, at our option replace any defective unit without charge for either parts or labor. AKG grants a three-year warranty covering selected products (C 12 VR, C 414 B-ULS, C 414 B-TLII, C 414 B-XLS, C 414 B-XLII, C 426 B, C 451 B, C 480 B, C 391 B, C 1000 B, C 2000 S, C 3000 B, C 4000 B, C 4500 B, SolidTube) against defects in material and workmanship.
Warranty is valid for AKG products purchased and delivered within the United States for the original purchaser only. The purchaser's Bill of Sale will serve as proof of sale and warranty validity in the U.S. Shipment of defective items to AKG for repair will be at the customer's own risk and expense. AKG will assume the return shipping cost for all items repaired under warranty.
IMPORTANT: This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse or abuse, lack of reasonable care, the affixing of any attachment not provided with the product, loss of parts, or connecting the product to any receptacle other than specified.
This warranty is void unless AKG Acoustics, U.S.'s service center performs the repair. No responsibility is assumed for any special, incidental or consequential damages caused by the consumer. However, the limitation of any right or remedy shall not be effective where law prohibits such.

You are not going to find a better mic for the price. Unlike the other gentleman who reviewed this mic, I have had no issues with them and have been using 8 of them on the road for almost 3 years now. I own a karaoke company and give these mics to drunks. Trust me when I say they can take a good beating. The only 2 downsides that I can think of with these mics is that 1 they have an on/off switch which for me is a hassle, and 2 the high end pickup is low on them but is easily compensated for in the EQ settings. I have even used them in the studio for vocals and as make shift drum mics in a pinch. Overall they are very nice mics that have above par sound quality at a price you can afford.
I bought this two months ago, it had been holding up to the standards i thought it should when one day it just quit on me for no reason, it was only dropped once and it was not a hard fall because it was on padded carpet. Buy a seinnhauser instead.
Last year, my old band I hadn't seen since 88 called up for a reunion. SO I pick up gear needed on the cheap. At our 1st practice mic test the guys were impressed with this over their Sure mic's. In fact the lead singer kept crowding in on my mic for the show. SO I bought another one on sale for next time. This rode in the back of a pick-up in original box only for a 1400 mile round trip- so yes it will hold up.
