Great Kick

When looking for a bass drum microphone I was never sure which one to get because almost all of them in the same price range seemed the same quality wise. Luckily, I got to try out several microphones at a local venue which had 3 other high quality ones except for the AKG D 112. They sounded good but not as great as I was expecting. Since my band's first gig was coming up, I decided to buy and try the AKG D 112 becasue it was recommended in a recording tutorial DVD I have. When I got it was the day of the gig and was amazed at how great it sounded compared to the other 3 microphones the venue had for drummers. My friend owns the venue and told me he decided to sell the other microphones and bought an AKG D 112. Other drummers I meet tell me how much they like the sound of my bass drum live and from our demo.

Kick shall not suffer anymore!

I was looking around for a good kick drum mic. I looked at a few different brands and borrowed different mics from friends. I made three or four separate recordings of me hitting my kick drum with a different mic. I honeslty can say, the AKG D112 was just outstanding. It gave my kick a pro-like sound. It was not to punchy and had a quality softness too it that is very hard to get with almost all other mics. D112s are standard in the world of kick drum mics. But people have them because they are good. The price is just right on these guys. A D 112 sounds great on bass cabinets too. I have not personally used it on a Bass amp, but I know people who have and they have nothing but great things to say about the D112. Getting one of these is always a good choice. It is a great mic to have sitting in your mic cabinet in your studio for use on a large variety of different things. A D 112 truly stands above the rest... Let all other kick mics rest in peace!

just great

I love the D-112. Im a bass player and use this to mic my cabinets and the sound is just great. Doesn't color the sound at all, very transparent, but it picks up the low fundamental tones of my bass. Its also a great kick drum mic and I have used it for live sound as well as recording in many different situations. Rock, jazz, metal, funk, rap. you name it, the d112, can do it. Highly recommended.

Best Bass drum Mic period!

The AKG D 112 Kick Drum Microphone makes my bass drum rumble like thunder. I can notice a difference between this and when a sound company uses something else. Buy this mic if you want the BEST bass drum sound.

Best Ever For Kick

This AKG D 112 is the very best dynamic microphone I have ever used and or heard compared to any other mic that records the Kick drum. If it were a vocal mic it should cost $3,000.00. I'm not kidding. I mean, is there any mic that is better at recording the kick drum in a live studio room? NO. It may not be super versitile, but hey, not much is in digital recording anymore. This is a brilliant stroke of engineering in recording microphones. I really can't say enough about this AKG, other than also, it's an AKG. That says a lot too. Best Regards, VeryPleased
