Amazing Quality & Value

By Mike

from Pennsylvania

I just bought this Fender Standard Fretless Jazz Bass today and I am amazed with the quality of it, do not let the MIM tag fool you, this bass is every bit as good as a MIA. The finish is absolutely perfect, and the neck is very smooth and fast enough.

Good Bass

By Ross Boss

from STl, Missouri

I picked up this bass in guitar center and spent a while playing it. I was very impressed with the tone and playability of it. I do not own a fretless bass and this made me want to go out and buy one. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a really good fretless bass that doesn't cost too much.

An excellent, playable fretless pleasure

By Jimmy Bear Pearson

from Raleigh, NC

Overall impression: Out of the box, I had a lasting and immediate positive impression: This bass is a pleasure to play and sounds great in a broad variety of musical styles. Playability: The balance is very good. The action is reasonably easy/low, and is comfortable for long periods of play. The body fits nicely against ribcage and arm. The satin finish on the neck is comfortable, quick, and doesn?t get ?grabby? with hot/sweaty hands. Sound: The new standard Fender Jazz pickups are significantly quieter previous standards. They have very good output over a broad range of frequencies. It can growl, swoon, scoop, thump, and spank all the way to the bank. The standard flatwound strings gives the bass that wonderful fretless/electric upright sound when you need it. Value: There is no comparison to this bass so far as its value for the features and quality For the price, it is difficult to find another bass that is as competent and pleasurable as the Fender standard Jazz fretless bass.

rockin' bass

I was looking to upgrade to a better bass. The sales rep. put this guitar in my hands and after a few riffs I was in love. The action was just what I needed to help me improve and inspired me to play more. If you are looking to upgrade try this bass.

I have been playing this bass for a year now. I had only 1 year experience and my bass instructor said it wasn't for beginners but I didn't listen and I'm glad. and I plan on that to stretch on to a much longer period. The tone is wonderful and the neck lines make it easy to play. I love the lack of fret buzz that comes on fretted basses. I have ad someproblems with it though. The A-string fits loosely in the nut, so it buzzes when I play it open. Also I get a dead zone on the 7th fret on the G-string, but changing the strings will probably fix that. The third was the E-string screw in the bridge was loose, but I tightened it once and haven't had it come out since. My final problem was false advertising in which the picture on ebay was black but I got a sparkling light blue instead. It didn't have the punk look I wanted, but it was still incredibly beautiful. This is definitely the best investment I've ever made, so buy one now.

Solid Bass

By RipperBassGoorue

from Dublin, Ohio

The Fender Fretless Standard Jazz Bass is a really nice bass to learn to play fretless on. The frets are painted on so finding the right tone is a lot easier than is the neck were just completely black. I have used this bass for about a year and half now and I am really comfortable with it. The are nice and have a pretty fast neck. I use flatwound strings so the neck doesn't get eaten up when playing. That is somewhat of a downfall of fretless basses. But, overall this bass will is a great price for what you get and it's really helpful if you want to play fretless but aren't comfortable with the positioning of the frets. I suggest buying one of these first then upgrading later to an American Fender Fretless Jazz Bass to get improved tone and functioning, but those are a bit more expensive and better to start off cheap with good quality and work your way up to expensive with great quality espically if you don't know how much you will like this item. E-mail me if you have further questions on this item, I think I can help. I'm only 15 but me and my blues band have been playing around a bit and I have really studied up on my musical knowledge. Awesome fretless bass

By volt9stormrider

from CT

The Fender Standard Fretless Jazz Bass is one of the most amazing fretless basses I have ever played. The tone is astounding and it is incredibly easy to play. When I played it through a Hartke amp I was blown away by its tone and sound quality. I regret not buying this bass because it is so enjoyable to play. My advice to you is to try this fretless bass out and if you like it, don't hesitate and buy it.

it was incredible the first time I laid my eyes on that bass guitar I fell in love. I have not seen a cooler looking bass guitar in my life. When I got the guitar it played beautifully and sounded awesome make the change and buy it, its worth every penny. I'm glad I made the right choice and got it because it changed the way I play the bass
