      Taylor 110 Sapele/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (H79617)
Availability:

Exceptional construction, solid spruce top, sapele back and sides, and lively tone for a song!

The Taylor 2012 110 Sapele/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar gives you crisp, sweet tone with great visual appeal from an ebony fretboard and detailed finish. Refined traditional guitar shape and scalloped X-bracing accentuate the open, airy midrange you expect from a Taylor. Responds especially well to flat picking and heavy strumming.

Sapele Laminate/Solid Sitka
Laminated sapele backs and sides and a solid spruce top make for crisp and well-defined sound in this versatile mid-priced guitar.

Dreadnought (DN)
The Taylor dreadnought is a focused guitar with plenty of presence, recently redesigned to be even more assertive. It’s the traditional choice for the traditional player; the model to drive with a heavy pick.

Includes gig bag.

  • Perfect

As reviewed by JAMES ASHE on 5/7/2012

I have just recently started taking guitar lessons on a Gibson SG and wanted an acoustic to take along when I travel so I could keep up with practice without lugging along an amp and my precious SG Standard. I already love this guitar. The sound is great and it is much easier to play than I expected. The wood, neck, fretboard, top, sides, back - everything is beautiful. I took it to my instructor for my weekly lesson to let him check the set up and he fell in love with the sound he got from some pretty hard picking and strumming. He said the set up was perfect and not to change a thing. I am a Gibson man but for the money, this is a great guitar.

  • Fantastic, can't ask for any more at this price

As reviewed by Stephen Allison on 8/9/2013

Today I spent an hour trying everything the shop had in my price range. I walked home with this Taylor 110. I picked this because it sounded marvelous and played incredibly well. The set-up was PERFECT, literally to the millimeter dead-on all the way down the fretbaord. The fretboard and bridge are ebony, a fantastic wood used on violin fingerboards. The top is solid spruce (but at this price that is a given). The neck is solid Sapele (an African tropical wood much like mahogany). Rosewood headstock. The tuners are chrome, stay in tune and look very classy. Even the nut and saddle, while not bone, appear to be of a very high quality plastic. Workmanship is FLAWLESS. The fretwork cannot be faulted in the slightest. There are really only two strikes against it: (1) while the soundboard is well braced and of excellent quality, there is no bracing in the body. (2) the sides are laminate, although it is a high quality laminate and still looks and feels great. Both issues are addressed in the 300 series, but those guitars cost twice as much. The 200 series is the exact same thing as this guitar, except rosewood laminate is used instead of sapele laminate. Why someone would pay and extra $150 for a different type of laminate is beyond me. The only real alternative at this price would be a Seagull S6 or SWS. In fact, the SWS uses all solid wood at the same price as this Taylor. But unfortunately, my shop does not stock them so I walked away with this beauty and feel fully satisfied with my new guitar.

  • Great buy!

As reviewed by Ted Schermer on 7/26/2012

I did a ton of research before purchasing this guitar. I was torn between the Martin X-series guitars, a used D-1, Takamine, Seagull, Breedlove, etc. When I went to purchase, I kept trying them all out, but none of them compared to this guitar. I never write reviews, but I felt I had to for this purchase. I've owned it for a few weeks now, and haven't put it down. It just plays so smoothly. The sound is great, the Elixir strings are phenomenal; I'm just ecstatic about this purchase. If you find yourself torn, as I did, grab this one, you won't be disappointed!
