Gibson Les Paul Studio 50's Tribute Electric Guitar with Humbucker Pickups (H78039)
Availability:

No-nonsense performance, classic tones, and textured satin finish.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute is built on a solid tradition. Ever since its introduction in 1983, the Les Paul Studio model has been enormously popular with players seeking the power and versatility of the original Les Paul Standard in a ready-for-action package, with a price to match. The instruments' reduced ornamentation—lacking body or fingerboard binding, and using plainer tops—has helped to put them in the hands of many more players, while their adherence to the Les Paul's hardware, pickup, and construction traditions retained all the thick, meaty tone and unsurpassed playability for which the Standard has been known for nearly 60 years.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute has a traditional Les Paul mahogany body with a maple top that is graced with a grain texured satin finish. The mahogany neck with a '50s profile has a 22-fret baked maple fingerboard which adds the snappy response of ebony, but retains a warm, traditional medium-brown look like pau ferro. A 490R neck humbucker and 498T bridge humbucker harness the resonant power of the time-tested selection of tonewoods. TonePros Kluson-style tuners and the faithful Tune-O-Matic bridge keep your tuning and intonation right where it should be.

Baked Maple:
Aging maple through a “baking” process called torrefaction. The wood is kept at 200-300º F for a period of time until the wood knows it’s no longer a tree; Moisture is restored under pressure. This makes the wood very hard, sonically “live” and extremely stable. The snappy sound of ebony, with the look of medium-brown pau ferro. Many boutique manufacturers are now using this because it improves the wood with no chemical treatment, it’s environmentally friendly and is great for making better sounding and playing guitars!

  • Amazing.

As reviewed by James Williams on 12/5/2011

I went into GC the other day and when I walked in I was instantly drawn to this gold top Les Paul so I picked it up and noticed that is wasn't quite as heavy as my other guitars but it felt completely amazing. I plugged it in and I instantly fell in love! This guitar looks amazing and plays even better! I highly recommend it! Plus the price isn't that deathly either. Astonished Customer Status set.

  • Awesome

As reviewed by John Tinsley on 2/6/2012

I bought this guitar about a week ago. Beautiful Honeyburst finish. (I prefer the satin finish to the high gloss) It plays, sounds & looks great. Just like a Les Paul should. The bridge pickup is hot but not too hot. The neck pickup has a nice warm tone. Setup was good out of the box. After a slight action adjustment & a few turns of the intonation screws it was even better. The neck has a nice feel & the maple fretboard is great. Great guitar. I'm glad I didn't spend an additional $1200 for a standard.

  • OMFG. REALLY QUALITY SOUND AND LOOKS

As reviewed by Alvaro Castillo Fadl on 10/24/2012

I got this LP about 4 months and its and amazing guitar, the goldtop finish its a dream (its not like the standard finish, this one is satin it doesnt shine but the pros is that it looks clean all the time) the quality on the guitar its stunning, the tone its truly a LP fat sound and it can handle any kind of music (i play hard rock, hardcore-metal, blues and all time classic rock covers and it has never let me down, IM SURE IT CAN HANDLES ANY TYPE O F MUSIC)in my case I was between these and a telecaster (love teles too) but this one is so much versatile than a tele and feels much more of a quality guitar than the special tele that is on the price range (its amazing to but this one is better specially if you like overdrive rock tones), The pickups are truly good too but in my case im more of a burstbucker kind a guy so i change the pickups with the chrome cover (it also makes the guitar looks better in my opinion but the sound gets brighter)mmmm well i could stay and talk about this amazing guitar all year long but got to go,,,, BUY IT U WONT REGRET IT. ooo another thing.... it smells amazing, my room smells like the gibson workshop all the time, smells like history. have a nice one
