Ever since its introduction in 1983, the Les Paul Studio model has been enormously popular with players seeking the power and versatility of the original Les Paul Standard in a ready-for-action package, with a price to match. The instruments' reduced ornamentation—lacking body or fingerboard binding, and using plainer tops—has helped to put them in the hands of many more players, while their adherence to the Les Paul's hardware, pickup, and made-in-the USA construction traditions retained all the thick, meaty tone and unsurpassed playability for which the Standard has been known for nearly 60 years.

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded is available in two worn finishes, Blue Satin and Ebony Satin. Combine all this with a pair of humbucking pickups with Alnico V magnets, a '50s rounded mahogany neck with black obeche fingerboard, and a classic hardware complement, and you have a no-nonsense classic for rock, blues, fusion, or any musical style you care to apply it to.

  • Outstanding Guitar

    This was my first guitar purchase from Guitar Center and my first US made Les Paul - the entire process was great! The guitar arrived in perfect shape, not a scratch or ding on it. It came out of the box ready to play - set up and the intonation was spot on. Running through my Line 6 Spyder the Les Paul sounds rich. Playing clean or with distortion, this Gibson is versatile and "comfortable" to play. I didn't break out a scale but it is lighter than my Epiphone Les Paul and would be ideal for gigging - as it wouldn't hurt your back during a long set. In summary, I would highly recommend the Gibson Les Paul Studio for someone looking to own their first "Made in the USA" Les Paul while on a budget. The ebony looks is cool, the weight and balance is terrrific and the neck/action/playability is what you would expect from Gibson. Finally, it's the best sounding guitar I have in my rack ~ better than my LTD's, Fenders and Sterling AX20.

  • Great for the price. No.. Great for any price!

    I played this guitar at GuitarCenter Manchester, CT, and I absolutely loved it. The neck is smooth and is a good solid profile, not too thin not too thick. The Burstbuckers in this guitar really sound amazing, clean or distorted. This guitar is light, gorgeous, and has an amazing satin finish. My only possible complaint is that it doesnt come with one of those Gibson Canadian made cases, because I really love those. If you're looking for a great U.S Les Paul, this is the one for you!

    I have been playing guitar on and off for 20 years. The last 10 I have really took it serious as a way of my love for music and trying to play some of my favorite tunes. I am a Stones, Beatles, Punk and classic country fan, I love music. I started with a cheap electric and worked my way up to an Epiphone SG. Great guitar!!! Love it and still do. When I got my Gibson....I never in my dreams thought there could be a guitar that was PERFECT for me. It was and is. Still love my acoustic guitars and my Epiphone SG, but my pride and joy is my Gibson Faded Black Les Paul. I am just an amature player working my way better and what great friend to expand.
