Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe Electric Guitar (H77980)

Gibson Les Paul performance with a modern features and a no-frills attitude.

The arrival of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups. Its simple yet elegant design quickly helped it become the most popular model in the Les Paul Series.

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe Electric Guitar with Ice Tea finish raises the bar with the cutting-yet-rich tone of a 490R humbucking pickup in the neck position and a BurstBucker Pro humbucking pickup in the bridge position, which are mounted on a carved maple top with a mahogany back. Controls include dual volume and push/pull tone controls to engage coil-splitting for an array of tones, and a 3-way toggle switch, hardware is finished in chrome including Grover tuners and Gibson's pioneering Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.

The Les Paul Studio Deluxe is dependable and affordable — and is built without any compromises. The Gibson Les Paul comes with a hardshell case and a limited lifetime warranty.

  • Second Gibson

As reviewed by michael alarcon on 4/2/2012

Well I've had an epiphone les paul for about 7 years it finally died. So I decided to go out and buy a Gibson les paul. I was orginally looking for a trad pro but found this one. This guitar is awesome. It sounds great and feels great. Plus you dont feel hurt in the wallet area if you know what I mean. This is a great afforadable gibson. I like the split coil pick-ups it really is a plus for this guitar. Anyone looking to get a les paul look at this one first you'll be surprised of the sound that comes out of this guitar.

  • I like...

As reviewed by Richard Conner on 9/14/2012

Got this one about 1 year ago at GC, my first "real" Gibson Les Paul. Pickups are very strong, guitar plays much brighter and "out front" than I've been heard from other Gibsons. The coil tap feature is nice, it widens the frequency range, but the sounds are not necessarily very Fender-y if that is what you seek (it also drops the volume and lets in the hum a tiny bit). Nice "ice tea" finish, especially on back and neck. I think I got a baked maple fingerboard (hard to tell these days), it is a bit darker than rosewood and has a nice matt? dark chocolate appearance and feels almost as nice (to me) as ebony.

  • GREAT!!!!! Guitar

As reviewed by Tony De Leon on 2/19/2013

This is my first Les Paul guitar and Love it!! I play it alot and for a solid body guitar it's not that heavy at all. Plus the sound is awesome!!! I love the fact that I got the last unopened and untouched one in the country with this color (Ice Tea)since I purchased it I've found out this color is discontinued now. So i am so happy I got it. There might still be opened diplay models out there, but for those of you who also like this color better hurry because thay are almost gone. Guitar Player Tony De Leon
