The '72 Tele takes on a humbucker for the first time.

  • great guitar!

As reviewed by kevin trawick on 3/12/2013

I walked into the Arlington Guitar Center and there it was! I was wholly seduced. I had come there just to buy some strings! anyway I bought it. I've played it at several gigs and at my church and have had lots of favorable comments on the sound, and I'm just running straight through a Fender Hot Rod Deville 410. The frets are finished out very well. No rough edges to be found! The intonation is right on the money. The guitar holds a tune exceptionally well. I've played a 52 Reissue since 1992 and I love it but sonically the 72 custom has a wider range than the reissue has. I liked the case as well. I dont say this often but its worth every penny.

This guitar is awesome built soild its a Fender my 7th overall Fender and 4th Tele its solid and will last forever as long as you take care of it . You can get so many diffrent tones and sounds out of it. I have had it for a week now and I am still discovering new sounds using the pickups together or indivually ,or rolling the volume up and down depending on the type of music I am playing . Jazz, Blues, Rock ,Country this guitar covers them all the pick ups are warm and smooth, dont expect tons of gain or distortion but if you want clear , velvet , buttery tones this guitar pulls them off well. The finish os vintage 70's thin , glossy and smooth. The neck is my favorite feature smooth and slick the fret work is awesome. The case is very nice and the included accessoires make this a great buy. If you are looking for a great guitar this is it.
