Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar (423834)

All-American parts and L.R. Baggs Element electronics produce a guitar that sounds like no other.

From Breedlove guitars comes a series that is 100% true-red-white-and-blue American. The American series guitars are built in Bend, Oregon, using quality products made right in the USA—no parts or designs were shipped to other countries. These guitars represent the true American spirit, using quality parts and Breedlove's famous craftsmanship, producing instruments that will stand the test of time and look absolutely beautiful in the process.

Built for center-stage, the concert body on this Breedlove American Series C25/CRe Herringbone Solo Acoustic-Electric Guitar is designed to minimize overtones during a performance. The body width and depth produces balanced tone, but does without the boomy bass or reverberation of a traditional dreadnought. But the impressive balance and projection are substantial musical features on this beauty. Because of these qualities, the concert body lends itself perfectly for fingerpicking, while still sounding great for playing in any style.

The solid cedar top and rosewood back and sides offer a balanced midrange with lots of bold projection. The soft cutaway adds comfort for accessing the upper frets. The ebony fingerboard, and the one-piece mahogany neck produce rich clarity from note to note. The C25/CRe's 25-1/2" scale, 1-3/4" nut width, and 16" radius offer comfort for intricate finger movements, and the gloss finish adds a high-end shine.

At the heart of the C25/CRe is the L.R. Baggs Element Active VTC Pickups System, letting you amplify your guitar quickly and easily. The Element Active Volume and Tone control (VTC) pairs the Element under-saddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class-A endpin preamp, and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone control for added convenience and versatility. The entire system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance.

All Breedlove Custom Shop steel-string guitars (except for the Revival Series), Pro Series and Atlas Series guitars use the JLD Bridge Truss system. This device is a cantilevered truss that helps to counterbalance string tension at the bridge, creating a relaxed top and improved structural integrity. This allows the tops to be braced in a very progressive way, with a focus on realizing the full acoustic potential of the top. A relaxed top provides maximal wavelength response and a synergy is created by use of a graduated top thickness, balanced scalloped bracing, and a pinless bridge in combination with the bridge truss system. This gives Breedlove guitars the distinctive and highly dynamic "Breedlove Sound", with a piano-like bass and a remarkably well-balanced tone suitable for a broad variety of musical styles.

Other appointments include ivoroid body binding with herringbone top purfling, Breedlove abalone rosette, single-action soundhole adjustable truss rod, ebony pinless "winged" bridge with J.L.D. bridge truss system, scalloped bracing, one-piece mahogany neck, Breedlove pearl dot position markers, ivoroid heel cap, asymmetrical Breedlove headstock with ebony overlay, and Gotoh 381 tuners.

The Breedlove American Series C25/CRe Herringbone Solo Acoustic-Electric Guitar includes the Breedlove lifetime warranty and a Breedlove deluxe hardshell case, so you can keep your 6-string looking as gorgeous as the day you bought it. Make that day today and order now.

  • Another amazing guitar from Breedlove

As reviewed by Jon Armitstead on 9/10/2010

Just recently went to Guitar Center to look at buying a new acoustic-electric and this guitar immediately caught my eye. I also looked at a Gibson Songwriter Studio, which is hundreds more, but when I played the two against each other the Breedlove came out on top. This guitar is beautiful and made of all wood and you can definitely tell my the sound. With the L.R. Baggs Element Active VTC pickup system it sounds just as good plugged in. This is just an amazing guitar and I would highly recommend this acoustic-electric to anyone looking to buy a new one. Great job Breedlove!

  • Amazing Guitar

As reviewed by Wade on 10/11/2010

After years of a playing a mid grade acoustic I searched for a top shelf guitar. I played Taylors and Martins but my search abruptly stopped when I picked up this Breedlove. I was captivated by it's tone. Unplugged as well as amplified. The bottom line is the guitar sounds amazing. I have had studio engineers ask me to use it for sessions because of how good it sounds. The guitar is very well balanced and plays easily.

  • Best value in a cedar top guitar! Forget the & 714CE

As reviewed by Chuck Ls on 1/4/2011

I just received mine today. This is an outstanding value! The guitar is very well crafted, albeit, minimal appointments. However, the sound is all there! It is loud and full sounding. The highs are stellar. Very clear and pronounced with the midrange being very warm. The bass is tight and not booming. For an all hardwood (no laminates) guitar, solid mahogany neck, and LR Braggs electronics (again minimal but totally functional). This guitar outperforms the 714CE. After all, Kim Breedlove left Taylor to pursue his own tonal quest. By the way, Taylor's necks are 3 pieces of wood glued together. The Breedlove is a solid piece of mahogany. LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!! It also has one of the best hard-shell cases I have ever seen.
