My first real kit...

And I love it! Had a cheap starter kit that came right out of box for about six months to a year and after I knew I wanted to continue drumming I moved up to this kit. Have had it for about a year now and its great. The starter heads it comes with are nice but after a year mine have worn out and need to be replaced. The price for this set is a steal, super low compared to some sets which reach high into the mid-thousands. The sound is good and with proper tuning the snare can produce a nice, dry crack just the way I like. The toms ring out a bit too much for my taste but dampeners work great to solve that. The giant kick drum sounds great and with a double pedal you can really make some sound. My set of 4 Zildjian cymbals, one Sabian and two Wuhan China cymbals sound great with the kit (Cymbals all together ended up costing me more then the kit itself!) and don't be fooled by its 4-piece set up. Smaller amount of drums and set up means nothing if you can use them right and this set can put out some serious sound. For anyone looking for a cheap price and a good kit that will last you years, I highly suggest!

Amazing Kit, Worth the price!

This Drum Kit is worth the price! I've always been a fan of Gretsch drum kits, but also custom kits have always caught my eye. If you're like me and can't afford a 2000-3000 dollar drum set then this kit is for you. The 20x22 bass drum is what first caught my attention; playing on it I feel the power and the booming response that forces my guitarists to turn their amps up. The snare is amazing with a snap and a cut that will burst your ear drums. The toms sound beautiful with deep low tones and amazing response. This kit is the kit you were looking for. Want to go custom and want true value, look no further.

Beautiful sight and sound

I bought this set because i was playing a lot of shows with my band and i wanted to upgrade to something that looked and sounded good. The first thing you notice is how gorgeous it is. I have the red sparkle black stripe set and it looks great in almost any light. Sounds great out of the box save for the bass head which is stock. If you're going for a heavier sound i would suggest picking up two ply heads and some basic muffling on the bottom head. After some fine tuning and some breaking in this set sounds totally top shelf and to an untrained eye could pass for a custom set. A set with the quality like this one offers for less than a good set of cymbals is a steal. Def check this one out.

Gretsch Club beats

The best part of this drumset is the without a doubt the bass. its depth adds to the power and projection of the mahogany. Unfortunately the toms do not sound as good as they would in maple or birch. The snare is better off a steel shell. If i were buying, i would get the bass and then pick out other drums.

WOW? or WOW!

This set is pretty good I would have to admit I bought it a week ago and before this set I had a pearl session custom(which was nice) but the difference including cost is amazing yeah you will have to tune and new heads make it that much more of a set...but out of the box its an awesome set...
