A Master-built Limited Edition from the Fender Custom Shop.
The Custom Shop has re-created the 1956 Stratocaster that become known informally as the Mary Kaye Strat, after the leader of The Mary Kaye Trio, a group that performed regularly in Las Vegas during the mid-fifties. The guitar features the Closet Classic treatment. This gives it the look of a guitar made in the '50s, played a little, and then put away to age gracefully in the case with a few small dings, mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware, and aged plastic parts. It features a premium ash body with a thin white blonde nitrocellulose lacquer finish, a one-piece maple neck, and elegant gold hardware. Its custom pickups are handwound by Fender's longtime pickup winder Abigail Ybarra, and each guitar features a limited edition neck plate. Includes a blonde limited edition hardshell case, strap, cable, a special certificate signed by Mary Kaye, and a DVD interview with her.
